Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona reopening on 12 March 2021

The hotel has implemented Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s ‘We Care’ programme of health and safety practices and precautionary measures to continue to uphold its commitment towards the comfort, safety and health of its guests and colleagues.

HONG KONG – Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced that Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona will reopen its doors to guests on 12 March 2021, following a temporary closure due to coronavirus-related restrictions.

An array of tempting offers and personalized experiences are now available, including gifts and delights for children, complimentary transfers to and from the hotel and courtesy nights. When booking a Staycation by M.O., guests can enjoy the charm of Barcelona through this dream-like package that includes an indulgent breakfast, early check-in, late check-out, parking and EUR100 credit that can be used on hotel services or toward the accommodation rate. 

The hotel has much to celebrate, having recently received a myriad of accolades, including:

  • Travel + Leisure magazine selected the hotel as one of the 100 best hotels in the world, strengthening its position as the leading luxury hotel in Barcelona.
  • Forbes awarded its five-star rating to the property, making it the only hotel and Spa in Spain with this rating in its Forbes Travel Guide.
  • Elite Traveler selected its Penthouse Suite as one of the 100 best suites in the world.

The gastronomic proposal is exceptional, and led by Blanc, which has celebrated Chef Carme Ruscalleda at the helm. Two menus have been designed for all tastes. On weekdays, guests can sample the indulgent Menus de Carme, and at weekends, the Domingos con Carme, which celebrates traditional dishes, such as Chef Carme’s legendary cannelloni. The reopening of Moments, the hotel’s two-Michelin-starred restaurant, run by Chef Carme and her son Raul Balam, will be confirmed in due course.
