Map reveals every country’s tourism slogan

Holiday deals website FamilyBreakFinder has collected together all the world’s tourism slogans and published them on a map. From Djibouti’s pun-tastic ‘Djibeauty’ to Armenia’s blunt ‘Visit Armenia, it is beautiful’, the map provides a quick-view insight into the way countries sell themselves. Examples include ‘The original cool’ (Netherlands), ‘You’re welcome’ (Uganda) and ‘Much mor’ (Morocco). Spain is the only country so far to make their slogan a hashtag, with #spainindetail.

There were 38 countries where tourism slogans could not be found, including North Korea and – surprisingly – Sweden. Several war-torn countries retain their slogans, including Syria (‘Always beautiful’) and Chad (‘Oasis of the Sahel’).

Dominic Sawyer, founder of FamilyBreakFinder, said: “This map is an intriguing view of tourism marketing around the world, with its mix of many generic slogans and some bizarre ones. Marketing people love an exclamation mark and there are 12 of them used here – though Lithuania uses three with ‘See it! Feel it! Love it!’. The most popular word used is ‘Beautiful’ which appears in six slogans.”
