ORANGE COUNTY, CALIF. - Montage Hotels & Resorts announces plans to manage and operate the new Montage Healdsburg. Owned by Ohana Real Estate Investors and developed by The Robert Green Company, the 130-room Montage Healdsburg will begin construction in spring 2018, and will open in the heart of California's world-renowned wine country in Sonoma County in spring 2020. A collection of Montage Residences are planned for a future phase of development, and will include single-family built homes as well as custom home sites.
Montage Healdsburg will be settled among the oak trees and vine covered hills just a short distance from historic and charming downtown Healdsburg. The 258-acre resort will feature 130 bungalow-style accommodations nestled within rolling hills featuring a wine country contemporary design. As the first Montage location in Northern California, the resort will be a launching place for memorable journeys to iconic wineries in the Alexander, Dry Creek and Russian River appellations, legendary culinary establishments, and scenic drives.
"We are honored to partner with Ohana Real Estate Investors and The Robert Green Company to bring Montage Healdsburg to life," said Alan J. Fuerstman, founder, chairman and CEO, Montage International. "Montage Healdsburg will feature breathtaking views of vineyards and oak woodlands, and will provide guests with signature Montage amenities. It is destined to become a wine country landmark, and we look forward to becoming a member of the Sonoma County community."
Complementing its extraordinary surroundings, Montage Healdsburg will provide a wide array of highly personalized resort experiences for individuals and families alike. Offerings will range from open air massages at Spa Montage to the infinity pool overlooking the resort's vineyards to Montage's signature, immersive children's program, Paintbox. As with all Montage properties, and with special focus on the heritage of culinary excellence in the wine country, there will be a gourmet-dining option available featuring a treehouse inspired private dining room and an outdoor bar and grill. The resort will also be available for weddings and receptions, all set to a backdrop of lush outdoor lawns overlooking the region's iconic vineyards.
"Montage Healdsburg will feature high-end, contemporary design that respects and highlights the unique qualities of the surrounding environment, featuring views of rolling hills, vineyards, and heritage oak trees. With natural materials and a color palette inspired by the site, the resort will offer timeless design and a true sense of place," said Alex Hill, Executive Vice President of Development at Ohana.
Designed by GlazierLe, Delawie Architects and EDG Interior Design Firm, Montage Healdsburg will emphasize environmentally sensitive design coupled with a wine country contemporary aesthetic. The resort will feature a color palette complementary to the local surroundings highlighting dark woods and earth tones.
"Since acquiring this unique property more than a decade ago, we and our partners at Ohana Real Estate Investors are excited to now bring this remarkable property in Healdsburg to fruition with the support of Montage Hotels & Resorts," said Robert S. Green, Jr., founder, president CEO of The Robert Green Company. "Montage is a superb hotel operator that will provide guests with a world-class experience in the heart of California Wine Country. Together we have taken considerable care to design an extremely environmentally sensitive project that fits naturally to the existing topography and preserves literally tens of thousands of beautiful oak trees on the property."
Debuting in 2020, Montage Healdsburg will deliver a unique sense of place: a transformative hideaway where the renowned hospitality of Montage Hotels & Resorts meets the authentic charm of the wine country.
