Moody National Companies breaks ground on Residence Inn by Marriott

Moody selected Arch-Con for its general contractor, and Mitchell Carlson Stone Architects designed the building.

HOUSTON – Moody National Companies has commenced construction on the Residence Inn by Marriott in the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. The 16 story, 182 room hotel is located at 7807 Kirby, with the Texas Medical Center and NRG Stadium serving as two of its primary demand generators. The Residence Inn will include a 4.5 story parking garage along with four private meeting spaces totaling 5,000 square feet. Opening is scheduled for early 2019.

Positioned in the heart of the Texas Medical Center, the location is perfectly-suited for an extended stay hotel. The Texas Medical Center is the largest medical center in the world with 45 collaborating institutions that host more than 8 million patient visits per year. With over 106,000 employees, the Texas Medical Center has both the world's largest children's hospital and the world's largest cancer center. The hotel is also adjacent to NRG Stadium, which is home to the Houston Texans and Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. NRG Stadium is utilized year round with a capacity of 72,000 people.

Moody selected Arch-Con for its general contractor, and Mitchell Carlson Stone Architects designed the building. Moody National Hospitality Management will manage ongoing operations of the hotel given its significant experience in the Medical Center Market. Within the Texas Medical Center submarket, Moody has managed several hotels including the Residence Inn by Marriott, the Courtyard by Marriott, the Springhill Suites by Marriott, the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton, and the Moody Manor.

Moody National Companies has commenced construction on this 16 story, 182 room Residence Inn by Marriott located at 7807 Kirby. Opening is scheduled for early 2019.
