New countries from Asia and Africa at MATKA 2017

All in all the MATKA Nordic Travel Fair presents exhibitors from over 80 different countries (situation 2 January 2017). The exhibitors include over thousand travel agents, different travel destinations and travel companies.

The MATKA Nordic Travel Fair surprises its visitors each year with new exotic travel destinations. This time the event is proud to present first-timers Cameroon, the Philippines, Tajikistan and Qatar.

Located on the west coast of Africa, Cameroon is gaining ground as a tourist attraction. In addition to its long traditions and success in football, the country offers beaches, desert, mountains, rainforests, savanna and mind-blowing musical experiences. English is the country’s official language which makes travelling there easy. Visit Cameroon at the MATKA fair on exhibition stand 7e149 (hall 7).

The Philippines consists of over 7,000 islands with picturesque beaches, diving and surfing resorts. Manila’s shopping streets offer a striking contrast to island hopping and the Philippines is a true shopper’s paradise with considerably low prices. Central Asia’s gem Tajikistan attracts with its snow-topped mountains and offers a glimpse of the past. On the route of the ancient Silk Road, Tajikistan is nowadays an almost secluded nation with breath-taking hiking trails, climbing options, jeep tours and exceptional nature including wild yaks, snow leopards and rare bird breeds. The One Thousand and One Nights’ Qatar brings traditions and modern lifestyle together. With abundant oil resources Qatar includes Bedouins who live according to ancient traditions and modern businessmen living the jet set lifestyle. All in all the MATKA Nordic Travel Fair presents exhibitors from over 80 different countries (situation 2 January 2017). The exhibitors include over thousand travel agents, different travel destinations and travel companies. The MATKA Nordic Travel Fair is the biggest travel event in Northern Europe and the partner country in 2017 is Turkey. The event is organised 19-22 January 2017 at Messukeskus Helsinki and it is open for travel trade professionals and the media on Thursday 19 January, and also for the general public from Friday to Sunday 20-22 January.
