New Huichol cabin debuts at SE Spa at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit

The space, showcasing the Huichols’ appreciation for simplicity, symbolism, and spirituality, welcomes guests to relax, reconnect, and find inner balance.

RIVIERA NAYARIT, MEXICO – Added to the diverse rolodex of culturally dense offerings at AAA Five Diamond Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit’s SE Spa is a new Huichol Cabin, featuring four new traditional Mexican rituals and treatments.

Embellished with vibrant, authentic decor, the cabin’s design and spiritual offerings pay homage to the Huichol Indians, still known today as the last North American indigenous peoples to maintain their pre-Columbian traditions. The space, showcasing the Huichols’ appreciation for simplicity, symbolism, and spirituality, welcomes guests to relax, reconnect, and find inner balance.

Guests can experience Copal Harmonization, a ritual that helps purify and awaken inner energies by burning copal and organic tobacco, said to be the mediator between heaven and earth, matter and spirit. Women can go on a self-love journey with the Sacred Feminine, a ritual and massage that activates one’s chakras to help release negative emotions and promote inner reunion and reconciliation. Additionally, guests also enjoy a Huichol massage, including copal cleansing to balance low energies and encourage self-reflection.

Included in any treatment of 50 minutes or more, a seven step water journey features a eucalyptus-scented steam room with chromotherapy, polar pool, aromatherapy sensory shower, sauna, Jacuzzi and multi-sensory pool. The central pool features several hydro elements such as powerful massaging faucets for neck and back and bubble beds, carved-stone chaises with jets set just underneath the surface of the water on which guests recline. A spa valet provides shots of Tea Forte teas and healthy snacks for additional health benefits as well as personalized direction to make sure guests get the most out of the truly relaxing hydrotherapy experience – such as how to alternate the various hot and cold rooms and pools, and how long to linger in them. Upon completion of the journey, guests recline on heated loungers with warm neck pillows, cool scented towels and cucumbers on the eyes to ensure the body is fully relaxed for a treatment.
