LOS ANGELES, CA – The Islands of Tahiti are experiencing an exceptional year with a new private island resort, more sustainable and innovative lodging options, and millions of dollars in resort renovations. The continued growth—spurred by more flight service and a diverse mix of accommodations—make The Islands of Tahiti more accessible, and enticing, than ever before.

This year The Islands of Tahiti is seeing the strongest arrivals numbers since 2001,” said Kristin Carlson, managing director of Tahiti Tourisme United States. “While accessibility has been a primary factor with the 2018 introduction of nonstop airlift from San Francisco, we’re thrilled to see investment not only in the destination’s luxury offerings, but also with exciting new immersive experiences for visitors as well.”

New private Island Rdsort
One of the world’s most exclusive escapes, the highly anticipated Nukutepipi is accepting bookings. The secluded private island resort in the Tuamotu Archipelago is only accessible by private jet and available for exclusive rental for groups of up to 52 people. Part of the Sunset Luxury Villas collection by famed Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte, the retreat features untouched beaches, a protected lagoon and natural coral reef, all painstakingly preserved and sustained to balance the needs of the island’s natural habitat and those of guests. The island rental includes full-service luxury accommodations of one Master Residence, two Junior Villas and 13 bungalows.

The first of four new luxe residences have opened at The Brando on its spectacular private atoll, Tetiaroa. The new three-bed residence spans 1.25 acres on the properties main motu of Onetahi, one of 12 motu (islets) that ring the Tetiaroa atoll, ensuring heightened privacy on the already secluded resort. The design offers a modern interpretation of Polynesian style with the use of local tropical wood, coral walls and pandanus thatch roofing, adhering to the strict sustainable standards that earned the resort its LEED Platinum certification. Guests can enjoy the residence’s large terrace and decks, swimming pool and a private stretch of beautiful sandy beach.

Three other residence-style accommodations will be opened over the next four years at the sustainable luxury property.
