New SVPs to revolutionize Expedia Group’s travel platform

As part of the company’s commitment to power the travel ecosystem, Tye and Sreeni will be responsible for critical work such as creating one loyalty program across brands, a better developer experience, and optimizing the platform for partners and travelers alike.

 

Expedia Group is one of the world’s largest travel platforms, driven by more than 70+ terabytes of data and facilitating travel experiences for millions of customers. Over the past year and a half the company has focused on building out the organization and shifting to a data and design-driven culture. The cultural shift pay off as Expedia Group experienced one of its most profitable quarters ever despite the COVID Delta variant resurgence.

As part of the company’s commitment to power the travel ecosystem, Tye and Sreeni will be responsible for critical work such as creating one loyalty program across brands, a better developer experience, and optimizing the platform for partners and travelers alike. Together on the Expedia Services team, they are reimagining how technology can evolve the travel industry and power travel for everyone, everywhere.

Sreenivas Rachamadugu
Based in Virginia, Sreenivas Rachamadugu joined Expedia Group in September 2021 as Senior Vice President, eCommerce Technology, charged with evolving Expedia Group's platform that powers marketplaces, brands, and partners. This requires him to play the role of connector, conductor, and catalyst.

Previously, Sreenivas was the Vice President, Engineering & Product, Commerce for Verizon Media. He led the global engineering and product team, developing solutions that transformed the commerce experience for consumers. He is passionate about building high-performing, innovative, global teams that change organizations.

He joined Expedia Group because he believes there is a rare opportunity to transform the travel industry as technical feasibility, industry evolution, and demand for services align.

Tye Strickland 
In September 2021, Tye Strickland joined Expedia Group as Senior Vice President, Developer Platform & Infrastructure, where he leads the team responsible for the core technology of the company. He is passionate about creating a simplified partner and customer experience as well as empowering employees through technology. Beyond creating high-performing teams, Tye is committed to building a great place to work through clarity of purpose and a focus on inclusion and diversity. He is based in San Francisco, California.

Tye has 25+ years of experience leading Global Information Technology organizations with a track record for delivering measurable results. He is an expert in leading critical operations in engineering platforms, cloud engineering and services, infrastructure, networks, and much more. Most recently, he was Vice President, Senior Technical Operations for Nike.
