NOVUM Hospitality develops one of the largest niu hotels at the Dusseldorf hub

The niu hotel will open in spring 2021 – with 226 hotel rooms and 201 apartments, one of the largest of the currently 50+ planned niu hotels.

Over 5 million overnight stays – that’s this year’s extremely positive forecast for the hotel market in Dusseldorf. The steadily growing numbers as well as the increase in particularly international overnight stays offer NOVUM Hospitality an ideal environment for its young midscale concept niu. Together with the proprietor and developer Peker GmbH, as well as RKW+ Architekten, the family-run hotel group is planning a niu called niu Hub between the city and airport on the Vogelsanger Weg – an ideal location for not only business travellers.

As things stand at present, the niu hotel will open in spring 2021 – with 226 hotel rooms and 201 apartments, one of the largest of the currently 50+ planned niu hotels. “Dusseldorf has again achieved a record figure for overnight stays: we want to be a part of this and are certain that our urban concept with individual storytelling in a living-room atmosphere at a very fair price-performance ratio resonates with the spirit of the times,” explains David Etmenan, the CEO and owner of NOVUM Hospitality.

niu Hub is already the second niu hotel to come into being in Dusseldorf, after niu Tab, and to be presented by NOVUM Hospitality in a whole series of playful ways, ranging from its name to the interior design in the unconventional niu style. The name is the first clue to niu’s unique storytelling approach: as it’s located not far from the major junction, the approach road to Dusseldorf – affectionately nicknamed Morsenbroicher Ei (“Morsenbroich egg”) – niu is naming the hotel “Hub”, after the traffic hub. In a final touch, the storytelling is completed with a unique wall design by a chosen graffiti artist: In this way, graffiti artists get involved as part of the initiative run by Viva con Agua Arts and the Millerntor Gallery and create eye-catching wall designs in all niu hotels, thanks to a socio-cultural collaboration in aid of a good cause. The proceeds go to the water and sanitary projects of the water initiative and, currently, to the Viva con Agua project in Uganda.
