Opportunity for post Covid travel?

Another opportunity may come from the shift to remote workers and those looking to spend some of this remote working time away from home.

One of the few constants that have remained throughout the year has been the message that the travel industry will in no uncertain terms remain in trouble once the pandemic comes to an end – at an individual level, many may be a bit more wary of travel whilst being in close confines with hundreds of others, whilst other accounts such as huge business travel may slow down as  the shift to remote working becomes more common. But there may be a growing number of opportunities for those looking at post-covid travel, as work flexibility is at an all-time high.

The first may be for the regular travellers looking to grab themselves a deal – whilst it has been speculated that prices may in fact rise to aid with recovery, there may be plenty of options to snatch a deal for the jet-setters looking to get away as deals are put in place to encourage travel for both the travel industry directly and supporting businesses in hospitality, for those keen to get away it may be worth keeping a close eye on how prices are changing and look to snag yourself a deal.

Another opportunity may come from the shift to remote workers and those looking to spend some of this remote working time away from home – recent years have seen a growth in those living life as a digital nomad, travelling and working remotely whilst doing so, and there are plenty of tips out there on how to get the best out of travelling this way at Digital Nomad World – whilst you will need to be more mindful of restrictions upon entering a new country, there may certainly be an opportunity within travel to allow you do so a little more freely in the coming months.

There’s already many different locations that have been able to open up much in the way they had done at the start of the year as rules begin to relax and more people feel a little more at ease – with the recent news of successes in vaccine trials and commitments to deliver them on a wider scale, the encouragement that this brings may further present opportunities for travel to return to normal too – although with many not looking to roll this out on a wider scale until the new year there may be a little delay for this change to be seen.

Whilst international travel is one thing, local travel may be a different matter to deal with – there are still many restrictions on public transport that could cause issues for those who do travel, mask requirements are one thing but delays and disruptions are another issue that have been constant throughout the year – if you are to travel toward the end of the year it would also be wise to ensure you’re up to date with any local travel restrictions or scheduling problems, otherwise you may find yourself stranded on arrival for what would have otherwise been an easy trip!
