Victor Calzada, director of food & beverage, Pendry San Diego
The new executives will join Pendry San Diego’s General Manager Michael O’Donohue and Director of Sales and Marketing Bob Frear in overseeing the development and launch of the 317-room property in the heart of the famed Gaslamp Quarter.
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Pendry San Diego is pleased to announce the appointment of three new members to the hotel’s executive team in preparation for the opening of the hotel in late 2016. A new luxury brand from Montage Hotels & Resorts, Pendry is a collection of hotels for the modern day traveler and will be each destination’s most inspired guest house.
The new executives will join Pendry San Diego’s General Manager Michael O’Donohue and Director of Sales and Marketing Bob Frear in overseeing the development and launch of the 317-room property in the heart of the famed Gaslamp Quarter.
David Wiggins joins the team as the director of finance, where he will oversee day-to-day operations of the hotel’s fiscal operations and accounting department. Wiggins most recently held the same role at the Marina Del Rey Marriott and previously worked in finance positions with the Ritz Carlton San Francisco and the Ritz Carlton Phoenix.
Victor Calzada takes on the role of director of food & beverage, managing the hotel’s food & beverage portfolio and concepts. Calzada will work with Pendry San Diego’s partners, including Clique Hospitality, to bring forth exceptional food & beverage experiences for hotel guests and locals alike. He joins the San Diego team from Dallas, TX where he was the director of food & beverage at the Joule Hotel and the Stoneleigh Hotel and Spa.
Jessica Johnson, has joined the Pendry San Diego team as director of people & culture. Johnson was most recently the director of human resources at the St. Regis Aspen Resort where she was responsible for a team of 320 employees and 35 managers. Prior to her time in Aspen, Johnson held human resources executive roles at the W Hotel in San Diego and with JC Resorts in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
Vicky is the co-founder of TravelDailyNews Media Network where she is the Editor-in Chief. She is also responsible for the daily operation and the financial policy. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Tourism Business Administration from the Technical University of Athens and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wales.
She has many years of both academic and industrial experience within the travel industry. She has written/edited numerous articles in various tourism magazines.
