Pereh Mountain Resort in northern Israel is now open

Built on the ruins of the 20th-century French Custom House constructed during the Ottoman Empire, Pereh Mountain Resort was reimagined as an innovative boutique resort founded on the pillars of leisure, nature, and gastronomy.

TEL AVIV, ISRAEL – Pereh Mountain Resort, a 27-room-and-suite boutique resort nestled within northern Israel’s verdant landscape, announces its grand opening.

Pereh, which translates to "wild" in Hebrew, is a private estate perched on a ridge with views of mountains and valleys. With vast outdoor spaces, breathtaking landscapes and an innovative iteration of local gastronomy, the resort encapsulates the best of the Galilee and Golan Heights region. The property boasts large terraces, orchards and gardens, as well as an outdoor infinity pool with hot tub and bar, an intimate spa, Rouge restaurant helmed by Chef Roee Dori, a wine cellar, and event and meeting spaces.

Built on the ruins of the 20th-century French Custom House constructed during the Ottoman Empire, Pereh Mountain Resort was reimagined as an innovative boutique resort founded on the pillars of leisure, nature, and gastronomy. Owner and visionary Leo Glaser preserved and restored the original edifices, including the two Bauhaus buildings that house the suites and garden rooms, all under the supervision of the Israel Conservation Authority.

The indoor spaces throughout the property were created and manifested by interior designers Dannah Leitersdorf and Tamara Glaser, who used mostly local natural materials in the buildings and furnishings, such as native basalt stone and natural mineral plaster. The spacious rooms and suites have all been restored to look like the original structures, with centuries-old wooden floors, rounded stone walls and high ceilings.

Pereh Mountain Resort's Rouge restaurant is helmed by Chef Roee Dori, who moved to northern Israel after working in the kitchens of the acclaimed leading Tel Aviv restaurants Mashya and L28. Dori honors the best of local ingredients by collaborating with small producers from the region and serving a seasonal menu that highlights the bounty and diversity of the region with a modern twist.

Pereh Mountain Resort also boasts a wine cellar that champions the best of local wines from the Galilee and Golan Heights region, including an in-house wine label bottled exclusively for the property. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 16:30 and 18:00, the in-house sommelier and mixologist host locavore wine tastings for the guests of the hotel. Pereh Mountain Resort is also home to an intimate spa with signature treatments such as “The Hot Volcanic Stones Massage” that utilize regional ingredients to fabricate remedies, ointments, essential oils, therapeutic teas and soaps.

“Pereh Mountain Resort is the manifestation of a vision and a dream that will elevate northern Israel’s luxury hospitality scene and attract new audiences to the region's gastronomic, natural, and cultural gems,” says Ishay Malka, co-owner and founder. “We are confident that our uncompromising commitment to top-level service and a thoughtful guest experience will excite the most discerning travelers.”

For business meetings and conventions of small to medium sizes (up to 55) as well as weddings and private celebrations, the hotel is well equipped with sweeping outdoor spaces and gardens, private meeting rooms and a lounge, and a sun-terrace overlooking the Galilee region (ideal for sunsets). For guests seeking total curation of their dream event or conference, the property also offers a full buy-out option.

Prior to the hotel's opening, co-owner Ishay Malka partnered with Zemack Gallery in Tel Aviv to hand-select the various paintings, photography and sculptures by contemporary Israeli artists that would be displayed throughout the property as a living and breathing art gallery. Shahar Elroy, the hotel’s Creative Director, will usher in the next chapter of art and design at Pereh Mountain Resort through a partnership with Gal Gaon Gallery in Tel Aviv. The intent of the partnership is to showcase the works of local contemporary artists throughout the hotel.
