Pleasant Holidays and Journese partner with CVS Health

Access to pre-travel COVID-19 testing for Hawaii travelers.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA – Pleasant Holidays and its luxury brand, Journese, announced they have partnered with CVS Health to help travel advisors provide options to clients for pre-travel COVID-19 testing to keep Hawaii vacations on course for travel in 2020 and 2021. As of Oct. 15, 2020, visitors to Hawaii who wish to avoid a mandatory 14-day quarantine must present evidence of a negative approved COVID-19 test; travelers to the Island of Hawaii will be required to take a second COVID-19 test upon arrival at the airport, which is paid for by the county at no cost to the traveler. Children ages four years and younger are not required to provide a pre-travel test when traveling with parents.

“As Hawaii begins to welcome travelers again, some confusion remains on protocols and where travelers can go to get pre-travel testing that meets the islands’ stringent requirements,” said Jack E. Richards, President and CEO. “CVS Health is one of the COVID-19 trusted testing partners approved by the state of Hawaii, has more than 2,800 testing locations across the continental US, and can provide test results typically within two to three days for a cost of $139 per person.”

Hawaii’s testing requirements mandate travelers are tested with an FDA-approved nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT), performed using a nasal swab, no earlier than 72 hours before the final leg of departure to the islands. The negative test result must be from a CLIA-certified laboratory. Travelers also will have their temperatures checked upon arrival and must fill out a travel and health form. Island of Hawaii is the only Hawaiian island currently requiring a secondary test; this rapid result antigen test, which provides results in 15-20 minutes, will be provided at all Island of Hawaii airports at no cost to the traveler.

The Traveler Support portals on the Pleasant Holidays and Journese websites include dynamic links to CVS Health’s Voluntary COVID-19 testing page and to destination travel restriction information worldwide. CVS Health can provide timely pre-travel COVID-19 testing results for travel to Hawaii and to other destinations that currently have COVID-related travel restrictions in place for travelers 12 years and older; CVS Health does not test children younger than 12 years of age. Travel Advisors can share the CVS Health link with their clients who can then schedule an appointment in advance for pre-travel testing at a nearby location.
