Qatar Airways takes delivery of its fourth Gulfstream G650ER executive jet

Qatar Executive is now the world’s largest G650ER owner-operator. Latest delivery is part of Qatar Airways Group’s expansion plans for Qatar Executive.

DOHA, QATAR – Qatar Airways has taken delivery of its fourth state-of-the-art Gulfstream G650ER executive aircraft, the fastest ultra-long-range business jet in the world. The latest aircraft delivery makes Qatar Airways the world’s largest owner-operator of Gulfstream G650ERs.

Qatar Executive, the airline’s exclusive private charter service, is a leading provider of jet aircraft charter services around the world, now operating a fleet of 12 ultra-modern Gulfstream and Bombardier executive jets to passengers demanding the very best in privacy, comfort and style. A further four brand new aircraft are expected to be welcomed into Qatar Executive’s exclusive fleet later year, when it takes delivery of another Gulfstream G650ER and three Gulfstream G500, with five more aircraft deliveries expected during 2019.

Qatar Airways was the global launch customer for the Gulfstream G500 executive jet in 2014 and the first operator in the Middle East of the Gulfstream G650ER. With its incredible 7,500 nautical mile range, industry-leading cabin technology and unparalleled passenger comfort, Qatar Executive’s G650ER can fly passengers in private luxury non-stop between Doha and Cape Town, Tokyo or New York.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: “The demand from our customers for longer range private air travel continues to grow. Taking delivery of our fourth Gulfstream G650ER Executive Jet – making Qatar Executive the largest single owner-operator of G650ER luxury private jets in the world – means we can continue to meet this demand. With its hugely impressive range, incredible speed and luxurious interior, Gulfstream’s state-of-the-art G650ER offers a superior flying experience for our most discerning passengers.”

Gulfstream President, Mr. Mark Burns, said: “Gulfstream delivered the first G650ER in the Middle East to Qatar Executive in 2015. At that time, Qatar Airways was interested in introducing a new and enhanced level of service, and determined that Gulfstream aircraft were the ideal choice to do so. We are proud to continue that relationship with this milestone, and value the confidence Qatar Airways has in Gulfstream and our employees who design, manufacture, service and support these aircraft.”

As well as having an impressive flying range of up to 7,500 nautical miles at Mach 0.85, the G650ER also has a top speed of Mach 0.925. Inside, the G650ER cabin features an award-winning quiet and spacious interior with wide seats, generous aisles, panoramic windows, internet and phone access as well as the lowest cabin altitude in the industry.

Qatar Executive’s now 12-strong fleet of technically-advanced private jets includes four Gulfstream G650ERs, three Bombardier Challenger 605s, four Global 5000s and one Global XRS aircraft. Qatar Executive's service portfolio also includes aircraft management, airliner charter, maintenance and FBO services.

The partnership between Qatar Airways and Gulfstream has seen the airline establish an agreement for up to 30 Gulfstream aircraft; firm orders and options include the flagship G650ER, the G500 and the G600.

The latest delivery for Qatar Executive mirrors Qatar Airways’ route expansion plans, which will see the launch of more exciting new destinations in 2018, including Canberra, Australia; Penang, Malaysia and Cardiff, U.K, to name just a few.

Qatar Airways to Launch Direct Flights to the Turkish City of Hatay
