Red Carnation Hotels debuts as no. 2 hotel brand in the World in Travel + Leisure’s ‘World’s Best’ Awards

Top honours also awarded to Ashford Castle, Hotel 41 and Chesterfield Mayfair; 2018 is the first year that Red Carnation has appeared in the ‘Best Hotel Brands’ category.

TORONTO – The Red Carnation Hotel Collection is thrilled to announce that it has once again earned top honours in the highly esteemed Travel + Leisure World's Best Awards. This year the collection garnered the No. 2 spot in the 'Best Hotel Brands' category, while Ashford Castle, Hotel 41 and The Chesterfield Mayfair each placed in the top 10 in their respective categories.

2018 is the first year that Red Carnation has appeared in the 'Best Hotel Brands' category. Its debut second from the top of the list is testament to the consistently exemplary service, luxurious accommodation, generous hospitality and outstanding amenities that are found at all 17 of our luxury boutique properties worldwide.

Other winners this year include Ireland's Ashford Castle, which placed No. 5 in the 'Top 10 Resort Hotels in the U.K. and Ireland' category. The historic Ashford Castle is Red Carnation's most-lauded hotel, offering a winning combination of stunning architecture, sumptuous cuisine, a state-of-the-art spa, and a wealth of activities on its expansive 350-acre grounds.

Two additional Red Carnation Hotels were also honoured with top spots in the 'Top 10 London City Hotels' category. Hotel 41 won the No. 5 spot, while The Chesterfield Mayfair earned the No. 10 spot. One of the city's most distinguished and sought-after hotels, '41' boasts views overlooking The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace, chic black-and-white décor, and staff that outnumbers guests two-to-one. The Chesterfield Mayfair, located minutes from Bond Street, Piccadilly and the Royal Parks, is renowned for its delicious Dover sole, themed afternoon teas, and innovative molecular cocktails.

"What an honour for Red Carnation Hotels to have been included for the first time in Travel + Leisure's 2018 Top 20 Hotel Brands in the World listing, announced yesterday with their 2018 World's Best Awards, as the No. 2 hotel company," said Beatrice Tollman, president and founder of Red Carnation Hotels. "In the 34 years since I founded Red Carnation Hotels, on the premise that 'no request is too large, no detail is too small' for any of our guests, I have surrounded myself with the most passionate, dedicated and loyal people in the industry. Together, with our extraordinary team, we have created what Red Carnation Hotels is today. This accolade is one of our proudest moments."

"We are thrilled that the readers of Travel + Leisure have once again rated our hotels among the best in the world," said Jonathan Raggett, managing director of Red Carnation Hotels. "I am incredibly proud that we have been voted second best hotel brand in the world. I would like to thank the brilliant teams for their tireless efforts to provide each of our guests with the consistently high levels of service they have come to expect from us, and also send a massive and sincere thank you to all of our extremely loyal guests. I am also so pleased to see that our sister company, Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection, was deservedly recognized as the best river cruise line in the world."

Travel + Leisure's annual World's Best Awards recognize the best destinations, hotels, resorts, spas, cruise lines, and tour and safari operators around the world, based on a survey of the publication's readers. Full results for 2018 can be found here.
