Regenerative Travel ushers in new cohort of hotel members

Andronis Concept Wellness Resort, Santorini, Greece

Five independent properties will join Regenerative Travel’s collection of trailblazing regenerative hospitality offerings.

LONDON | NEW YORK – Regenerative Travel, a benefit corporation and a collection of independent hotels and lodges committed to regenerative hospitality, announce five new additions to the Regenerative Travel Hotel Community. The new hotel members – Andronis Concept Wellness Resort in Santorini, Greece; Bliss & Stars in the Cederberg Mountains, South Africa; Cherero Camp in the Serengeti, Tanzania; Jade Mountain in Soufriere, Saint Lucia; and The Manta Resort on Pemba Island, Tanzania– join an exceptional list of resorts handpicked for their dedication to the highest levels of social and environmental impact.

Initiatives from the new members range from protecting and conserving coastlines to regenerate fish populations in East Africa to restoring a 1.5 million gallon reservoir to catch rain and river water in Saint Lucia. Joining the Regenerative Travel Hotel Community connects members with a values-aligned community of hoteliers, providing a platform to share best practices and drive aspirations towards regenerative models. The criteria for members adhere to Regenerative Travel’s ethos of inclusivity over exclusivity, creating a standard that is both objective and subjective, measurable, and that is rigorous but considers value and intent. With a devotion to thoughtful hospitality that considers both people and place, Andronis Concept has beautifully designed villas and suites that capture Mediterranean light.

Bliss & Stars, Clanwilliam, South Africa
Regenerative Commitments: Reducing energy consumption and environmental impact by harnessing solar power for all electricity needs and minimizing the use of artificial outdoor lights to keep light pollution at zero and protect nocturnal wildlife. Thanks to restorative practices including irrigation using wastewater, the retreat has helped to rewild local flora and see it flourish after long suffering from drought.

Experience Offering: Seclusion and reflection in stunning South African wilderness. Astronomy workshops work alongside retreat offerings to educate guests on how astronomy cycles can impact our overall wellness. Hiking in the Cederberg Mountains to view historic bushmen cave paintings.

Delicately constructed to respect the surrounding Cederberg Mountains, Bliss & Stars fuses meditation, movement, gastronomy and astronomy to provide all-encompassing nourishment and wellness for all guests. The retreat consists of chalets and tented chalets tucked unassumingly into the rocks, carefully designed to fuse Nordic minimalism with the light and expansiveness of South African wilderness. Founded as the ultimate antidote to hustle and burnout, Bliss & Stars encourages guests to appreciate the power of nature and being in the present.

Cherero Camp, Central-Western Serengeti, Tanzania
Regenerative Commitments: Minimizing environmental impact by having zero permanent structures in the camp and harnessing solar power for hot water and electricity. Employing former poachers as camp guards to provide them with a stable income that allows them to leave the damaging practice of poaching behind.

Experience Offering: Complete nature immersion in the heart of Serengeti National Park. Majestic game drives to catch sight of the likes of elephants, lions and rhino roaming freely in the savannah. Hot air balloon rides soaring above the savannah to take in the vast and precious Serengeti landscapes.

As one of Kantiable Afrika’s two eco-friendly dwellings, Cherero Camp was founded on the principle of doing things the right way – placing integrity, purpose and harmony above all else. Maintaining the health of the land – and the communities that reside within it – have remained a primary focus since Kantiable’s inception. Built with no permanent constructions, Cherero Camp was designed to be moved entirely without leaving a lasting trace on either the Serengeti or the Earth.
