Regenerative Travel welcomes new trailblazing hotels

Introducing African Bush Camps – Khwai Leadwood, Eaton DC,  Future Found Sanctuary, Matetsi Victoria Falls, Rockhouse Hotel, Skylark Negril  & Tortuga Bay.

LONDON/ NEW YORK – Regenerative Travel, a benefit corporation and collection of independent hotels and lodges committed to regenerative hospitality, announced seven new additions to the trailblazing Regenerative Travel hotel portfolio. The new hotel members- Eaton DC in Washington, Matetsi in Zimbabwe, Tortuga Bay in the Dominican Republic, Khwai Leadwood in Botswana, Future Found Sanctuary in South Africa and Rockhouse and Skylark Negril both in Jamaica- join an exceptional list of resorts handpicked and assessed for their dedication to the highest levels of social and environmental impact.

Initiatives from the new members range from a program to train & empower female safari guides in Botswana, an unwavering commitment to conservation in the Dominican Republic and creating an inclusive, safe, urban space to bring people together to discuss intersectional issues of race, gender and ability in Washington DC. Joining the Regenerative Travel hotel portfolio connects members with a values-aligned community of hoteliers, providing a platform to share best practices and drive aspirations towards regenerative models. In creating the criteria for members Regenerative Travel stayed true to the brand ethos of inclusivity over exclusivity, creating a standard that is both objective and subjective, that is measurable but not fixed, that is rigorous but considers value and intent.  Ultimately, empowering a collective that can fulfil its duty towards social justice and environmental regeneration while giving travellers a tool to make more informed decisions and discover destinations that align with their values. African Bushcamps: Khwai Leadwood, Botswana
Regenerative Commitments: As part of the African Bush Camps’ collective, Khwai Leadwood was founded on the mission to share and conserve Africa together. The camp is dedicated to recruiting and empowering female guides and training the next generation through internship programs for local youth and aspires to conserve the land and support rural communities located in the most vulnerable wildlife areas via the African Bushcamps Foundation.

Hippos and elephants are regular sights at this camp nestled close to the edge of the Khwai river. With six elegantly styled tents and one family unit, the camp bridges the gap between luxury accommodation and feeling like you’re in the great outdoors, the perfect experience for travellers looking for a holistically African adventure.

Regenerative Commitments: Future Found Sanctuary takes its cue from the abundant nature in the foothills of Cape Town’s Table Mountain to preseve the area’s biodiversity.
