TIERRA VERDE, FLA. – Officials with Marriott International, Prime Hospitality Group and Shaner Hotel Group announced the grand opening of the 95-suite Residence Inn by Marriott St. Petersburg Tierra Verde in Fla. Located at 214 Madonna Boulevard, the all-suite Prime Hospitality Group-owned and Shaner Hotel Group-operated Residence Inn St. Petersburg Tierra Verde operates as a Marriott franchise.

Situated on the Tierra Verde Resort Marina just minutes to Fort DeSoto State Park and nine miles from downtown St. Petersburg, the Residence Inn St. Petersburg Tierra Verde offers its guests convenient access to Fort DeSoto Park, St. Pete Beach, the Dali Museum and Eckerd College. In addition to being directly on a beautiful marina with open water access, the Residence Inn hosts on-site dining selections, retail, boating and two pools. It’s all topped off with an amazing rooftop restaurant named Vista at The Top. Stunning 360° views of St. Pete and the Gulf of Mexico from Vista at the Top are a delight to guests enjoying their favorite beverages accompanied by a menu offering food varied from the familiar to the slightly exotic.

We are pleased with the continued growth of Residence Inn to the Tierra Verde area,” said Diane Mayer, vice president, and global brand manager, Residence Inn at Marriott International. “When on the road for an extended period, our guests need space to spread out, maintain their life’s pace and restore their energy to keep a healthy balance and routine while traveling. This new hotel offers a seamless blend of modern style and functionality that allows them to settle in and thrive.”

Residence Inn properties are designed as all-suite hotels that offer studio, one- and two-bedroom suites. Guests looking for a revitalizing sleep experience will enjoy the hotel’s plush mattresses and crisp linens, while guests focused on being productive will value their suite’s large, well-lit work desk, ergonomic chair, and complimentary high-speed Internet access. Designed for stays of five nights or more, each suite also has a fully-equipped kitchen with a coffeemaker, microwave oven, and residential-sized appliances.

Residence Inn has created a decor with a “home plus” feel that is warm, optimistic and flexible. The longer-stay guest will experience a livable, uplifting environment based on honest materials, organic forms, warm colors, and natural light. The new design incorporates a transitional inviting style, crisp details, and signature residential textiles.

The Residence Inn St. Petersburg Tierra Verde rotates a wide selection of healthy choices for its free hot breakfast every day. Guests can start with favorites like bacon and eggs, Greek yogurt, cut fruit or waffles, and personalize it with extensive toppings, ranging from fresh spinach and cheese to sliced almonds and strawberries.

The Residence Inn by Marriott brand is ideal for Southwestern Florida visitors who require additional space and amenities to make the most of their business or leisure excursions,” said Plato Ghinos, president, Shaner Hotels. “As an approved Marriott operator, we are intimately familiar with the Residence Inn brand. This marks the 38th Marriott addition to our portfolio of owned and operated hotels across the United States and Europe, as well as the 42 hotels we have opened.  Following its ramp-up period, we fully expect the Residence Inn by Marriott St. Petersburg to become the upscale destination of choice for visitors to the area.

Extending the feeling of comfortable living on the road, the Residence Inn St. Petersburg Tierra Verde offers guests inviting and functional public spaces to relax or collaborate. Road warriors and families alike enjoy the hotel’s grocery delivery service, complimentary Wi-Fi, 24-hour onsite food and beverage market, dry cleaning services and onsite guest laundry room.
