Residence Inn by Marriott Stamford Downtown uncorks details on its tequila and tapas lounge, One Club

Menu of sipping tequilas, cocktails and small plates revealed.

STAMFORD, CONN. – The doors to Stamford, Connecticut’s first extended stay hotel will open Nov. 19, 2018 as Residence Inn by Marriott Stamford Downtown welcomes its first guests. Every facet of the newly constructed eight-story, 156-room hotel was thoughtfully crafted with both business and leisure travelers in mind. The stunning welcome area will be home to One Club, a tequila bar and dining lounge that is also destined to be a draw for the local Stamford community.

Designed for socializing with a perch overlooking bustling Atlantic Street, One Club features a dramatic double level ceiling, a grand piano and fireplace. There, hotel guests and walk-ins can choose from over 20 specialty tequilas in four categories: Blancos, Reposados, Anejos and Mezcal, plus other specialties. Food and Beverage Manager Kaitlyn Cleary studied the tequila market extensively to identify products that would both engage the tequila-curious and give aficionados something new to discover. Tequila highlights include the organic Aldez line, the premium Don Julio 1942, and the visually captivating rose-hued Tierras Organic Asombroso La Rosa.

For cocktail enthusiasts, a menu of expertly crafted specialty drinks will start at $12. Come opening day, guests can sit at the bar or by the fire in the cozy lounge and enjoy libations like the Smokin’ Sage featuring Banhez Mezcal and fresh lime muddled with sage and grilled pineapple; Pisco Vacation with Macchu Pisco, Fiorente Elderflower Liqueur, Aperol, ruby red grapefruit, and bitters; Devil’s Garden with Corrajelo Silver and muddled fresh jalapeno, shaken with lime, blood orange puree, and Combier; Bergamot Blend featuring Bootlegger Vodka, Italicus Rosolio Bergamot Liqueur, lime juice and a splash of blood orange; and the Moonshine Mule with Full Moonshine Apple Pie and ginger beer. For Margarita lovers, the “design your own” menu option is a must.

To complement the hotel’s cocktail culture is an impactful menu of small plates and sweets. Highlights include Tuna Ceviche Stuffed Tostones with avocado, cilantro and lime; Shrimp & Chorizo Paella Croquettas with piquillo pepper aioli; Mango Guacamole served with crispy plantain chips and lime; Mini “Fritas Cubanas” (Cuban Hamburgers) and Cumin Lamb Lollipops with tomato-cucumber salsa fresca. A selection of meats and cheeses by the chef, sides like Yucca Fries and delectable sweet treats like Cinnamon Curros with chocolate and berry dipping sauce and Crispy Apple Pie Empinada with caramel drizzle, among other choices, complete the menu.

Guests and locals can explore all that Residence Inn by Marriott Stamford Downtown has to offer starting Nov. 19, 2018.
