STAMFORD, CONN. – Residence Inn by Marriott is opening its first hotel in Stamford in late fall 2018, bringing Connecticut’s third-largest city and one of the Northeast’s largest corporate centers its first-ever extended-stay brand. Just 30 miles from New York City, Residence Inn by Marriott Stamford Downtown is owned by UC Funds and will be managed by Urgo Hotels & Resorts. The new eight-story, all-suite hotel located at 25 Atlantic Street will offer 156 luxury apartment-style accommodations and almost 2,000 square feet of meeting and event space in the heart of Stamford’s bustling downtown.

“Residence Inn by Marriott Stamford Downtown is a vital addition to the Stamford travel market and business community,” said area general manager Todd Lindvall. “Its downtown location and residential-style suites and amenities are equally ideal for corporate travelers who need proximity to local headquarters, families and other visitors who want a launch pad to explore the city and greater New York metro, and extended-stay guests who seek the comforts of home while they’re on the road.”

Each of the hotel’s 156 spacious suites is stylishly appointed and designed with a handsome coastal feel. Features include a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, plush bedding, an efficient work desk, and complimentary high-speed wireless internet. Hotel conveniences range from a sundry shop to self-service barbeque grills, valet parking and complimentary shuttle service within Stamford via a fleet of luxury vehicles. All accommodations are pet friendly and green space beckons just beyond the hotel for walks with guests’ four-legged family members.

Guests enjoy access to Club One, a signature tapas and tequila bar with a dramatic double-story ceiling, grand piano and fireplace, for dinner and socializing; Club One Dining Room for complimentary hot American breakfast; and a 2,000-square-foot, 24-hour fitness center equipped with a full array of cardio machines and strength training equipment. Residence Inn guests are also welcome to use the indoor pool and whirlpool at the connected Courtyard by Marriott Stamford Downtown.

Nearly 2,000 square feet of meeting and event space accommodates business groups, weddings and other social gatherings of up to 120 and can be separated into two rooms for smaller events. Complementing the space is a 1,000-square-foot terrace, set off the welcome reception area, ideal for cocktails. Marriott’s turn-key business solutions include high-speed wireless internet, onsite business equipment and services from copy and faxing to overnight deliver and pickup.

Residence Inn by Marriott Stamford Downtown is just steps from the best in the city: the restored Palace Theatre for performing arts, shopping at Stamford Town Center, and the 12-acre Mill River Park, with its carousel, ice skating rink, and array of family-friendly events and activities. Connecticut beaches are less than two miles from the hotel. Stamford is within easy reach of major international airports in New York and New Jersey, as well as through train service on Amtrak and the Metro-North New Haven line.
