Ritz-Carlton to develop a hotel in St. Kitts

New resort to be constructed on the island’s Southeast Peninsula.

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS – The Ministry of Tourism and the St. Kitts Tourism Authority announced that The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C., part of Marriott International, has signed a management agreement with The Liamuiga Corportation to open a Ritz-Carlton Resort on St. Kitts in 2021.

"We look forward to welcoming the Ritz-Carlton to our shores," said the Hon. Mr. Lindsay F.P. Grant, Minister of Tourism, International Trade, Industry and Commerce. "This well-known and highly regarded brand will complement our existing hotel product and add to the mix of accommodations we offer as we continue to target the discerning, experiential traveler. Similar to other new hotel developments on island, the Ritz-Carlton Resort will create 300 jobs on island during construction with a further 250 jobs once the hotel and resort is operational, providing employment for our citizens and benefitting the economy."

The proposed 125-room Ritz-Carlton Resort will be located on the beach facing the Caribbean sea in the picturesque southeast peninsula of the island and will also include 25 Ritz-Carlton Branded Villas and Residences. Among the hotel's amenities will be a spa, several swimming pools set within the lush tropical landscape and indoor and outdoor dining facilities and meeting spaces.

The resort is the anchor of a larger development project led by The Liamuiga Corporationin association with Jim Wrightsman, Principal of the development management firm The JSW|Group of Dallas, TX. The project design team includes an award-winning collaboration of the Coleman Partners Architects of Baton Rouge, LA, Three Architecture Inc. of Dallas, TX and Marzipan Interior Design of Royal Palm Beach, FL.

The Liamuiga Corporation has received praise for both design and its strong commitment to environmental and social responsibility. The new property will enhance St. Kitts' growing tourism product by adding additional hotel options for visitors who want to experience the diversity of the island's activities, attractions and natural attributes during their stay.
