BREDA - Nadja Buckenberger, the founder of hotel management technology company RoomRaccoon, was named the Founder of the Year by Founders Alliance, a premium business forum for founders of global growth companies and large-scale corporations. The 21st Founders Awards Gala took place in Stockholm City Hall on 22 September and hosted leading founders from around the world.
The awards aim to draw attention to successful founders selected by a qualified jury of large-scale founders. This year's jury consisted of Chairwoman of the jury Sofi Franzén - Eventyr Nine Yards, Vladimir Borisov - Teleport Amsterdam, Harshil Karia - Schbang, Level, Greger Hagelin - Utopia, WESC and Sabina E. von Arx - Q. Brands.
Nadja Buckenberger received the award in the category Founders of Small Sized Company. This category recognizes active founders of a company with revenue of approximately 2- 10 MEUR and at least 20% ownership in a profitable company.
The jury's motivation for awarding Nadja Buckenberger as Founder of the Year: “With braveness and curiosity, this founder has built success in a new field. The motto, “How difficult can it be”, has made her try new things and continue even when others have said it is not possible. The founder has built a company with large potential on a world market.”
A former hotel owner, Nadja Buckenberger founded RoomRaccoon in 2017 with the vision to empower small independent hoteliers with smart technology to accelerate operations and increase profitability. Today, the company operates in 10 markets in Europe, Africa and North America, and the team has grown to over 90 heads.
