Sage Hotel Management announces new additions and promotions within senior leadership team

Recent senior talent acquisition reaffirms commitment to becoming nation’s undisputable lifestyle hospitality company.

DENVER – Sage Hotel Management, a Denver-based Sage Hospitality Group company, recently announced several key new hires and internal promotions within its senior leadership team. These new leadership appointments further fuel the national hospitality group’s strategic expansion in urban and urban resort destinations throughout the U.S., with a primary emphasis on lifestyle and independent hotels which now comprise more than 60 percent of its portfolio of nearly 60 hotels across 20 states.

Previously serving as vice president of Sage’s Premier Collection’s West Coast portfolio, Dani Stern has been promoted to senior vice president of The Premier Collection, representing Sage’s luxury, upper-upscale, soft branded and branded full-service hotels. A member of the Sage team for more than seven years, Stern has held multiple roles within the company, including general manager of the JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek and The Westin Westminster in Westminster, Colo., along with executive leadership positions with Destination Hotels/Two Roads Hospitality.

Over the past six years, Sage’s independent hotel portfolio has more than tripled, and in anticipation of an accelerated growth trajectory, Marco Perry is joining the organization as senior vice president leading The Sage Independent Hotel Collection, the company’s fastest growing collection. Perry brings more than two decades of industry experience to the Sage team, most recently serving as vice president, regional managing director for Noble House Hotels & Resorts, where he oversaw operations of 10 hotels on the West Coast and Mexico. Over the course of his career, he has held management roles with numerous notable hotel brands including Joie de Vivre/Commune Hotels & Resorts, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Aman Resorts, Soho House and Mandarin Oriental Group.

Steve Santomo has been promoted to vice president of The Premier Collection. Santomo began his career with Sage in 2018 as general manager of Embassy Suites Denver Downtown, during which he was named Colorado Hotel and Lodging Association's 2021 Hotelier of the Year. Prior to Sage, Santomo worked with Destination Hotels/Two Roads Hospitality, where he held multiple management roles before being named senior vice president of Destination Resorts Management.

Maryam Seifi has been promoted to vice president of Sage’s Upscale Collection, representing the portfolio’s upscale, urban focused-service hotels. Seifi joined Sage Hospitality in 2017 as general manager of the AC Hotel Minneapolis Downtown and was promoted to corporate director of operations in 2021. Prior to joining Sage, Seifi held several management roles with Marriott International.

Kim Corrigan has been promoted to vice president of operations planning. Corrigan began her career with Sage in 2008 as general manager of The Curtis Hotel in Denver, Colo. Before joining Sage’s executive leadership team in 2019 and overseeing The Sage Independent Hotel Collection, she served as the general manager of both Chicago’s The Blackstone and Denver’s Halcyon – a hotel in Cherry Creek. In this new role, Corrigan will ensure the successful roll-out of company-wide corporate initiatives, while also facilitating the Operational Excellence Advisory Board to gain important feedback from both field and home office stakeholders. She will also continue to lead and develop the operational model of Sage’s Catbird hotel concept, ahead of its growth across the nation.

A Sage veteran of nearly 20 years, Jan Lucas has been promoted to vice president of procurement and strategic sourcing. Lucas has continuously advanced throughout her time with Sage, holding positions both at the corporate office and numerous properties. Prior to this promotion, she held the role of vice president of Sage’s Upscale Collection. In this role, Lucas will be responsible for harnessing Sage Hospitality Group’s significant buying power across its four companies to identify strategic procurement partnership opportunities and drive greater efficiencies. She will also continue to lead the Engineering Council, which provides oversight to strategic engineering initiatives and stimulates best practice sharing across the portfolio.

“We are thrilled to welcome these exciting additions to our leadership team, and congratulate our newly promoted executives,” said Daniel del Olmo, president and chief operating officer. “As we continue to enrich lives, one experience at a time, while expanding our portfolio and further solidifying our position as the premier lifestyle hospitality company in the nation, we're placing a major emphasis on attracting, retaining and nurturing top talent while celebrating the advancement of several of our home-grown leaders. I am so proud to be working with not only such remarkable and accomplished leaders, but also with simply outstanding and like-hearted humans. While we have been in business for nearly 40 years, I feel we are just getting started with one of our most exciting chapters. To that point, stay tuned for some very exciting announcements regarding several flagship additions to the portfolio very soon.”

In addition to these appointments and in the last year alone, Sage has made a significant investment in ensuring success by attracting top talent in key disciplines including sales, marketing and revenue management across the property and home office commercial teams with experts in lifestyle hospitality, organizing all commercial efforts to proactively support the property teams’ topline and market share growth objectives. To that end, last July Patrick Pahlke joined Sage from Proper Hospitality as executive vice president and chief commercial officer to architect and implement Sage’s next generation commercial organization and has since built an organization encompassing over 40 corporate commercial team members supporting the growing portfolio.

To honor its company culture and core values, Sage also strengthened its “You Belong” cultural platform, a key strategy aimed at creating an inspiring work environment that reflects the company mission and actively engages associates to deliver on its vision of enriching lives one experience at a time. Consisting of three key pillars, “You Belong” focuses on areas including promoting health and wellness; training, mentoring, diversity and cross-functional opportunities; and recognizing and sharing employee success stories.
