We had the opportunity to meet with the Sales Director of the HotelBeds Group, Mr Sam Turner at the MarketHub Americas by HotelBeds 2017, who spoke to TravelDailyNews about what does he consider to be the future of bedbanks in the travel market, in what way Hotelbeds simplify the customer experience, and generally how sharing economy platforms position themselves in the market.

Sam Turner
Sales Director – Hotelbeds Group
Sam started his career in finance within the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) operating across a range of financial disciplines over a three year period before joining Britannia Airways, which in late 2000 subsequently became part of TUI AG. Sam went on to hold various senior finance roles within the mainstream sector of TUI, becoming Director of Finance, Performance and Planning following the creation of TUI Travel PLC in 2007.
In late 2008, Sam joined The Accommodation & Destinations sector of TUI Travel PLC as Finance Director – now Hotelbeds – assuming responsibility for the global finance and strategy functions. Since December 2014, Sam has been responsible for leading the customer acquisition and account management processes across all channels through the leadership of the global sales teams. Sam is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
