There are so many photography tips online that sometimes one doesn’t know where to turn. Here in this article, we look at a series of tips that are esoteric and will help you develop quirky and creative edges for your photography.

All over the internet, I’m sure you’ve seen countless photography tips and advice, all about the same general topics. This is all well and good but where’s advice for the esoteric and wonderful? Sometimes an artist needs the advice to put them into different experiences and mindsets, this is why we’ve come up with 7 travel photography tips that you may not usually hear.

1. Naive Art
This is a tip that is especially applicable for candid photography. If you overthink and analyze too much, then this can lead to action not being taken, and so the shot is ultimately lost. Putting oneself into naive and childlike states is sometimes what needs to be done.

2. The “Main Event”
If you take photos at the main event, you’re at, whether it be a sports match, market day or some other event, they are great places to take pictures but sometimes “shooting around” makes for more interesting pieces of work. Don’t always look at the direct subject matter of the main event for inspiration. Look around, and you’ll probably find some cool things to take photos of.

3. There’s No Next Time
When in a rush, often one finds themselves procrastinating or putting off scenes because they’re busy. Normally, next time won’t come around. Take the opportunity and capture the decisive moment before it’s too late.

4. Bad Weather? Great Snaps
When one thinks of photography, they usually imagine going out on a beautiful day where there is lots of light. Nobody thinks of cold, grey skies – there’s limited light for use. However, reflections from water droplets allow light to do brilliant things, and different lighting allows one to play with their settings getting some unique shots – important photography for beginners. Consider venturing outside with your camera when the weather turns sour.

5. There’s Beauty in the Ugly
Sometimes there can really be beautiful things lurking in the ugly. An abandoned building, some derelict sculpture, the atmosphere of baron land – all of these and many more can be photographed and appreciated. Remember that there is more to photography than just a pretty picture, there are textures and moods for capturing.

6. Skepticism About Local Advice
When you travel, it’s easy to take in advice from locals but sometimes avoiding the tourist spots can lead one to better places. A place can feel incredible and have deep significance if it’s off the beaten track. Photography is all about capturing the decisive moment, and this can be anywhere and everywhere.

7. Action on the Doorstep
Talking about the action, whether it’s a ceremony, a Nettcasino event or some other buzz, it’s good to be as close as possible. If you’ve got to take long journeys to a particular place, this can alter your mood, making you not want to shoot or making careless mistakes. Sometimes being close is what’s best, especially if it means you can get up early and stay out till the evening to take advantage of the “golden hours” where the light conditions are just right.
