Sherbet London Taxis introduces 125 new electric black cabs across London

With a current fleet of 400 taxis across London and the South East, the new launch will see an increase to over 500 cabs.

Sherbet London Taxis, the first ever British black cab company to introduce all electric cabs, is expanding its feet of black cabs across London in September 2019. Manufactured by London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC), the 125 brand new environmentally friendly taxis are worth over £7 million, and 50 are already in service.

The progressive company is shaking up the taxi market through its forward-thinking mission of cutting down London’s toxic pollution. Sherbet has successfully trebled its number of electric cabs since first hitting the streets at the end of 2018. With a current fleet of 400 taxis across London and the South East, the new launch will see an increase to over 500 cabs.

The black cabs are not only environmentally conscious, but are also wheelchair accessible, proving the innovative company to make positive and progressive impact in the sector. Sherbet London Taxis firmly ticks the social, environmental and corporate responsibility box, following the Ultra-Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) which came into effect 08 April 2019 in London.

Sherbet London Taxis’ CEO, Asher Moses has stated, “We are delighted to announce the increase of our fleet of electric black cabs across London. This is another step towards our aim of having 1,000 electric vehicles within the next three years. We also have very exciting plans in the pipeline to grow our company even further, in hopes to reaching other regions of the UK.”

With hopes of expanding the electronic evolution even further, Sherbet has plans of entering the taxi market in Glasgow and Manchester in the near future.

All Sherbet taxis are available for outside branding opportunities and are equipped with telematics inside, perfect for airlines, companies and conference hires.
