NEW YORK - ShermansTravel Media, a leading publisher of hand-picked travel deals and value-oriented advice, has launched ShermansCruise.com, an entirely new digital experience designed to serve first-time cruisers, and longtime cruise enthusiasts.

With 22 new ocean and river ships launched in 2015; 21 more slated through 2017; and emerging cruise destinations like Cuba, the cruise industry is growing and changing quickly. ShermansCruise gives users an easy way to navigate through this new world, including the complex research, shopping, and booking process, with an overarching emphasis on finding the right cruise.

"We know that for first-time cruisers, the process can be confusing," said David Steward, ShermansTravel CEO. "With the growth of offerings onboard and in port, and the diversification of cruise ships and itineraries, there is a cruise for everyone. People just need help finding the ships and itineraries that are right for them. Our goal at ShermansCruise is to provide resources that demystify cruising, and help people find an ideal cruise experience."

To deliver on that goal, ShermansCruise features Navigatr, a cruise recommendation tool. Powered by proprietary, leading technology, Navigatr matches travelers with the right cruise ship and itinerary based on a variety of criteria, much like a traditional travel agent would. Recommendations are presented in a streamlined way, making it easy to find the lowest rates, check availability, explore the ship's features, select a cabin, book online, or speak directly to a live cruise agent.  There is no other online resource that takes a first-time cruiser from the initial planning stages through the booking process in such a seamless way.

The ShermansCruise team has created content with a similarly modern and service-oriented approach. From insider advice to expert reviews to deals, content is visually driven and easily digestible. Original video brings the cruising experience to life and helps users differentiate between cabin options, line-owned private islands in the Caribbean, and much more. Integrated social media posts throughout the site highlight the voices of real cruisers and their experiences via photos and mini-reviews, all in real time. Informative, curated social media posts from the cruise lines themselves add to the variety of voices on the site, and help users assess different kinds of cruising experiences.

The original editorial content includes an encyclopedic set of ship, cruise line, port, and itinerary reviews, as well as coverage of latest cruise trends and deals. All of this will be served on the web site, as well as in email newsletters. Steward and his team tapped cruise industry expert Sherri Eisenberg as Editorial Director of ShermansCruise. Eisenberg was most recently editorial director of CruiseLine.com and a contributing cruise columnist for The Los Angeles Times. She and her team are traveling on every ocean and river cruise vessel to create unique content, imagery, and videos that give users an authentic, original look at cruising.

"Our goal is to provide compelling, current, and interactive content for readers that helps them better understand cruising and the diverse products and itineraries that are currently available," said Eisenberg. "There is a cruise for everyone. We are delivering the content and tools that will help users confidently make an informed decision, while staying plugged into this exciting and ever-changing travel category."
