Asia is the biggest and most populous continent on earth. Being the world’s largest continent, Asia has plenty of travel experiences and insights to offer any traveler who puts Asia on their bucket list. 1. National Palace Museum, Taipei, Taiwan

Did you know that the National Palace Museum in Taiwan admits 2,800 people at a time? Impressive. Besides, many tourist attractions in Taiwan, many people confuse the museum with the Palace Museum in Beijing. The two are different entities but share the same root. The National Palace Museum is home to the most extensive Chinese art collection with an impressive 696,422 exhibits. Chinese arts spanning from more than 8,000 years ago are kept in this beautiful, dramatic, and multi-tiered complex. The museum is proud to hold some of the most magnificent artworks in our existence. The vast collection includes paintings, rare bronzes, lacquerware, calligraphy, jade, ceramics, and other religious objects.

2. Hue, Vietnam
Many countries in Asia were ruled by dynasties of families in the old-age. In the old age, many emperors who ruled most of the Asian countries lived in cities. You may have heard of the Forbidden City in China, where emperors and government officials lived and were forbidden for commoners to enter. Hue (pronounced ‘hway’) is one of the cities where imperials lived and are known as “Vietnam’s Imperial City.” Hue is a historic town in Vietnam that doesn’t get a lot of spotlights as it should. Visitors can roam and view the historic ruins of Hue, which is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Hue’s small town also boasts of other historic places like The Imperial Citadel, imperial tombs: dedicated to former emperors, and Thien Mu Pagoda, where you’re likely to see young monks training and studying.

3. Togian Islands, Indonesia
Asia is home to a substantial number of islands on the continent. Some of these islands are also countries. Indonesia is home to more than 16,000 islands, and from this number, the Togian Islands stand out. The Togian Islands form an extensive group of 56 islands located in the Gulf of Tomini and are widely known for their crystal clear and calm waters. Most of these islands are home to many fishing villages and Muslims who form a small part of the ethnic group. If you’re looking to cut connections with your everyday life, these islands are the perfect remedy for you. With loads of exciting activities, like diving, explore the small isles while still enjoying the vibrant culture and tasty food.

4. Dawei, Myanmar
One would describe Dawei as a sleepy small town located in Southeastern Myanmar and is the administrative capital of the Tanintharyi Region. Dawei’s city dated back from 1751 and was under the rule of several empires until 1826 when the British took over. As a result of the British influence in the area, many colonial buildings are a site in the town and still standing to date. Unlike most cities in Southeast Asia, Dawei is a less noisy town, clean and less crowded. A holiday getaway in Dawei’s town provides the ideal environment away from the hustle and bustle of city life and will make you realize how essential the little things in life are. If you want to taste a white sandy beach, the Maungmakan beach should be your choice as it is nearer to Dawei city. The town is also synonymous with interesting traditional and cultural heritage sites.

5. Kampot, Cambodia
Kampot has its location in the coastal part of Cambodia. The town is a destination for any avid traveler. The culture and the scenery and some adventure make it a complete experience for you. The city was previously a port town but is now a quiet area encompassed by fishing villages.

6. Palawan, Philippines

This list would feel incomplete if we went without mentioning the Philippines. It is worth noting that the Philippines is under-appreciated and completely underrated. The Philippines is composed of tropical islands with magnificent beaches and lots of vacation activities suited to anyone. 

From vast, beautiful cities to ancient temples, Asia is one of the most diverse and mesmerizing continents on Earth. With relatively low visiting costs and an ever-expanding tourism infrastructure, Asia is continually spreading in popularity as a hot-spot destination for many travellers from around the world.
