LONDON – Sleep + Eat announced its partnership with NEWH – the premier networking resource for the hospitality industry that links education with business through events, scholarships and leadership development.

Every year, the UK chapter of the 25-year-old US hospitality organisation gives interior and architectural design students a chance to present one of their current academic projects to a panel of esteemed judges from within the design industry. The winners receive a Scholarship Fund to use towards their education or 3rd year work placement.

For the first time this year, as well as having their work exposed to and helpfully critiqued by the panel, this year’s winning NEWH Students, along with past winners, have been given the opportunity to join the event and display their boards at Sleep + Eat 2018, positioning them within the very heart of Europe’s hospitality design scene and granting them further opportunity to have their work viewed by the event’s high calibre of industry professionals. This year’s students’ project themes range from designing a pop-kitchen & cafe formed from shipping containers to reinventing an Old Street warehouse into a space of live/work/play incubators for new businesses.

“The UK chapter of NEWH are very pleased to be in partnership with Sleep + Eat”, says Jonathan Young (President of the UK chapter of NEWH). “As an organisation whose primary goal is to raise money for scholarships for design students in the hospitality market, NEWH are thankful that Sleep + Eat have given us the opportunity to showcase the work of the students who have been involved in our scholarship process. With a number of interior design and architectural firms attending the show, it also gives the students a chance to connect with prospective employers as well bringing together education and business.”

Sleep + Eat will be open from 10am-8.30pm on Tuesday 20th November and from 10am-6pm on Wednesday 21st November.
