Spring travel recovery up 106% YoY + top 10 travel destinations in the US

International travel has doubled YoY from 7% to 14% with the removal of Covid restrictions.

With spring upon us, sharing new data from CarTrawler on travel trends this season – including the most popular Spring Break destinations for US travelers. 

CarTrawler has access to this data through its global partner network of over 100 airlines and 2,000 travel partners.

  • Travel up more than 100% YoY: Across March and April, travel is making an excellent recovery with bookings up 106% in 2022 compared to 2021. Travel in the Spring break period specifically is also recovering at a similar rate of 85%. 
  • International travel grows 2x: International travel has doubled YoY from 7% to 14% with the removal of Covid restrictions. 

This data echoes the findings from a larger travel trend report released by CarTrawler earlier this year that found nearly three quarters (73%) of consumers are positive about travel despite the pandemic. More than half (51%) of U.S. travelers expect to do more domestic leisure travel in the coming year, and 43% of travelers expect to do more international leisure travel.
