Survey reveals most expensive luxury hotels in the world

With a rate of $6995 per night for its least expensive room, the North Island Lodge, a luxury private island resort located in the heart of the Seychelles, clearly tops the ranking. Another private island resort, Laucala Island, located on the Fijian island of Taveuni, ranks as the runner-up at an overnight rate of $5700.

The most expensive hotel in the world is located in the Seychelles, a group of islands in the Indian Ocean. That is the determination of a recent survey conducted by Luxury-Hotels.com.

The survey compared the rates of luxury hotels around the globe for the main summer travel months of July and August 2017. Specifically, the rankings are based on the minimum nightly price a couple will have to spend to stay at a particular hotel or resort.

With a rate of $6995 per night for its least expensive room, the North Island Lodge, a luxury private island resort located in the heart of the Seychelles, clearly tops the ranking. Another private island resort, Laucala Island, located on the Fijian island of Taveuni, ranks as the runner-up at an overnight rate of $5700.

Three safari lodges in Botswana share the last spot on the Top 3 podium with minimum rates of $4710 each this summer. A luxury guest ranch located in Montana is the most expensive hotel in the United States, ranking ninth most expensive worldwide.

Following are the 10 most expensive hotels in the world. The rates listed are based on the lowest available price for a vacationing couple to stay in each respective hotel during the months of July and August 2017.
