When it comes to travelling, we all have our favourite destinations. For some, it will be about spending time on the beach, whereas others will enjoy a city break.

Either way, there’s plenty of choices for you to find the sort of fun you are seeking across the globe, even if you are on a stricter budget.

Yet, one country that perhaps slips under the radar for some when it comes to identifying the perfect travel destination is Ireland.

Even though we won’t be able to guarantee you the weather, there’s still plenty of reason to visit Ireland; here, we outline three great places to consider for your next trip.

Dublin
We’ll start with the capital city and the obvious one. Dublin is a great city that is packed full of things to do for any tourist. Visiting the iconic Temple Bar, that offers you over 450 rare whiskies to choose from, may be on your radar or a trip to the Guinness factory to see where the famous drink is made.

Elsewhere, Marsh’s Library and the Heaney Exhibition are popular options, whilst regular tour buses will give you an insight into what goes on daily in the vibrant city. Of course, there are a host of bars and great nightlife too that you would associate with such a busy place that attracts visitors from across the world.

Galway
The harbour city on the west coast of Ireland is another popular place for tourists and it’s easy to see why. The fact it boasts plenty of festivals, arts events and much more is why it was named as the European City of Culture for 2020. As well as that, the race track in the city is renowned, and you can get odds on Galway races before spending the day at the great course, with the major sporting events sure to serve up some entertainment.

If that wasn’t enough, Galway is known for its great scenery and there are many beautiful getaways available once you visit.

Achill Island
If you are searching for one of the most picturesque places in Ireland, then Achill Island will be the place for you. The small island in County Mayo is on the west coast and it made the news after a beach that had vanished came back after 23 years.

There are several beaches to choose from in Achill and it is part of the well-known Atlantic Way drive that follows the coastline and brings some spectacular views along the way. So, if you want to spend a day in the sun on the beach, then this is the place to visit. You can also participate in various activities on the water if that appeals.

As you can see, there are various options in Ireland, and that’s what makes it a fantastic option for all tourists as it caters for so many needs. So, the next time you are mulling over with friends and family about where you should visit, a trip to Ireland should be high on the list of places you’re considering.
