Aspen Snowmass, Colorado
If your favorite pastime is spotting celebs, Aspen Snowmass is the place to do it. A favorite of both normal and celebrity folk, there’s something for everyone to get involved in. With slopes for beginners and experts, the resort has four mountains of sheet white snow that’s ready for this season’s first visitors.
Test your endurance on steep gradients or smooth bunny slopes before heading to the après ski bar or Ullr Nights. Finally, finish up the night with a long warming soak in the tub with s’mores and hot chocolate. Who could say no?
Park City Mountain Resort, Utah
Park City offers way more than just the black diamond runs and snowy activities. You can take a tour on skis to lap up the city’s rich history through the old abandoned mining buildings scattered in the mountains. Alternatively, set the scene for a romantic night with a magical horse-drawn sleigh ride.

Breckenridge, Colorado
With five different peaks of varying difficulties, Breckenridge isn’t for the faint-hearted. If you’re into backcountry skiing, the Breck Guide is the perfect tour to learn the basic skills you need to truly enjoy the mountains. Alternatively, take the kids on the slightly tamer, free naturalist tour with a ranger to guide you through the beautiful forest.
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Wyoming

There are lots to do and see at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Wyoming. Take an Aerial Tram to 10,450ft and enjoy waffles with your choice of topping. With 400 inches of snow falling every year, the Big Sky resort offers unrivaled views across three state lines.
The Montana resort has more than 5,800 acres for skiing, and if you fancy traveling a little faster, why not ride the 1,500ft zip line hovering 150 feet above tree level.
Of course, there are also excursions for the less adventurous. For example, exploring the mountains on the scenic snowshoe tour or taking the coach to the Yellowstone National Park nearby.
Whiteface Mountain, New York
Although much smaller than other resorts on this list, Whiteface Mountain near Lake Placid is small but mighty. Those interested in the Olympics can also try their hand at bobsledding using a real Olympic bobsled from the Winter Olympics in 1980.
20% of the trials at Whiteface Mountain are for beginners, with the majority of routes suited to intermediates (42%). This resort is potentially a little more family-orientated as experts will have just 38% of the resort for testing out their best skills.
Stowe, Vermont
Finally on this list is Stowe in Vermont. With trials for beginners and expert skiers and snowboarders, as well as 18 miles of ungroomed terrain, this is the perfect place for an adventure-packed vacation.
While taking a break from the slops, you can enjoy a scenic gondola ride on Mount Mansfield or head to Burlington for its bustling nightlight and quirky restaurants.
