The Chedi Andermatt unveils brand-new Penthouse Suite

Swiss designers Jaeggi Architekten designed the Gotthard Suite, which spans 350m2 with accommodation for up to 10 guests.

Switzerland’s five-star luxury design hotel The Chedi Andermatt, has unveiled a brand-new penthouse suite, the Gotthard Suite.

The Gotthard pass once played a significant role in trade between northern and southern Europe and to this day it is still the only pass to connect the two regions. With such historical importance, it only seemed fit to name the new The Chedi Andermatt suite after the Gotthard pass.

Swiss designers Jaeggi Architekten designed the Gotthard Suite, which spans 350m2 with accommodation for up to 10 guests. In true Swiss fashion, the master bedroom features an over-sized wooden bathtub. The suite has been finished in oak and walnut with a beautiful fireplace and floor to ceiling windows, showing that it is both comfortable and stylish.

Ideal for families and large groups wanting the privacy of their own chalet but with access to the hotel’s facilities, the Gotthard Suite comprises a spacious living room and dining area, fully equipped kitchen, five bathrooms and five bedrooms split over two levels. Making the most of the hotel’s Alpine location, the children’s playground and a 33m2 terrace offer spectacular panoramic views of the Hospen Valley.

The Gotthard Suite joins four existing suites and 118 rooms at The Chedi Andermatt, which opened in December 2013 and quickly established itself as one of Switzerland’s most impressive hotels. Designed by visionary architect Jean-Michel Gathy, the hotel provides an unusual fusion of Alpine chic and Asian zen and features an array of dining options and an award-winning Spa & Health Club.
