RALEIGH, NC — LODEN Properties, the development company behind the highly anticipated Longleaf Hotel, announces its official opening today in the heart of downtown Raleigh. The 56-room hotel brings the 1960s-era motor inn back to life with an authentic North Carolina aesthetic.

Located at 300 N. Dawson Street, the hotel is a block away from the city’s State Complex where the Museum of Natural Science and History, State Legislature and Capitol are all located, and free to access. Additional entertainment can be found three blocks away in the Glenwood South district, boasting some of the city’s best restaurants and nightlife; Fayetteville Street, offering art, music, and cultural festivals throughout the year; and the Warehouse District, the location of the new Union Station, boutique shopping, and Raleigh’s Contemporary Art Museum. The hotel is also a short drive from state parks filled with soaring longleaf pines and endless hiking. Guests are encouraged to explore the surrounding area via Raleigh’s Citrix Cycle program, with a future station to be installed on property.

The opening of The Longleaf Hotel ushers in a new era of hospitality in Downtown Raleigh,” says Russ Jones, partner at LODEN Properties. “This is the first independent property of its kind in the area, and we’ve assembled an expert team of locals who are personally invested in showcasing the best that Raleigh has to offer.”

This hotel creatively captures the culturally rich spirit of the neighborhood through its thoughtful design and programming,” says Tim Rogers, General Manager at The Longleaf Hotel. “We’re thrilled to introduce this first of its kind concept to the community and offer a new home base for visitors.”

The hotel takes its name from the state tree, whose soaring trunks and asymmetric canopies lend a sense of warmth and movement to the Designed by Maurer Architecture and Raleigh resident Joshua Gajownik, the inviting color palate of dusky green, salmon and burgundy, and its mid-century details can be found throughout the rooms and public spaces, including the original uncovered starshine decorative screens, use of leather, terrazzo and custom millwork.

The Longleaf Hotel’s 56 rooms include 37 Standard Kings; 1 King Deluxe; 17 Standard Doubles and One King Suite. Each with Matouk luxury bedding; wooden headboards by Bull City Designs; Malin + Goetz bath amenities; Rise & Ramble shibori dyed robes; Bluetooth speakers, and a stocked fridge with locally made snacks, including Slingshot Cold Brew Coffee, Big Spoon Roasters Bar, Videri Chocolate, Carolina Kettle Chips and more.

Guests making their way to The Longleaf Hotel are greeted with a playful “Long Live Longleaf” neon sign glowing on the building’s exterior overlooking the hotel’s expansive courtyard. Accessible to hotel guests and locals, the courtyard is open year-round, with fire pits for the cooler months. Programming will rotate seasonally.

Helmed by Hospitality Director Matt Fern, the welcoming Longleaf Lounge provides hotel guests with a selection of items for a grab and go breakfast, along with a full bar accompanied by a menu of mid-century inspired bites such as Port Wine Cheddar Cheeseballs, Fancy Ants on a Log featuring Big Spoon Roasters nut butters, and French Onion Dip with potato chips. Additionally, the hotel’s forthcoming restaurant -(ish)delicatessen- will sit adjacent to the main building and provide guests with a blend of the foodways of the Jewish American South and classic Italian deli upon completion.
