The Snow Lodge Aspen to open inside the St. Regis Aspen Resort

The Snow Lodge to launch supper club and after-dinner lounge at iconic St. Regis Aspen Resort.

 

The Snow Lodge, the sister property of The Surf Lodge in Montauk, will open inside the St. Regis Aspen Resort on December 22nd, 2021. Founder and Creative Director of The Surf Lodge, Jayma Cardoso, is partnering with Stephane De Baets of Elevated Returns (Chef’s Club) to unveil a new restaurant and entertainment concept for the season, The Snow Lodge Supper Club. The venue will be part supper club, part lounge with seasonal cuisine and innovative cocktails designed by the award-winning team behind Dante, crowned the “World’s Best Bar” in 2019.

Patrons escaping the chill of the mountain will enter into a lush setting of deep velvets and local art sourced from Aspen galleries and Snow Lodge’s artist in residence program in two distinct spaces – the restaurant and lounge. The residency will kick off for the season with artist and musician Brandon Boyd and photographer Brian Bowen Smith, followed by visual artist Heart Evangelista and other names including Richard Phillips, Zoe Buckman, Tonia Calderon, Anthony James and Brandon Ralph.

Chefs Club has always been more than offering a great menu – it’s about curating the best experience for our guests,” said Stephane DeBaets, President + Founder, Elevated Returns. “With that thought in mind, we have partnered with the Surf Lodge brand this season – the first time since our inception that we are bringing on a partner outside of just strictly the food and beverage arena. Snow Lodge will have elevated dishes but also music and cultural programming for a truly memorable experience.”

Chef Mark Connell, formerly of Casa d’Angelo, is spearheading the menu which includes both shareables and large plates featuring contemporary and classic Italian preparations. Small plates include options such as Olive All’Ascolana (fried castelvetranos stuffed with sausage) and imported Buratta with tomato olive Battuta, basil and grilled bread. All pastas are made in house featuring Chef’s signature “seamless” Ravioli, and Foie gras ravioli with seared diver scallops. Creative desserts like the chocolate globe, meyer lemon chiboust, tiramisu, and passion fruit explosions finish off the meal. Robert Sieber will be overseeing the kitchen as Culinary Director.

The Snow Lodge’s cocktail lounge will be home to a thoughtfully curated music series with DJ sets and unplugged acoustic concerts. Guests can expect intimate performances from a roster of both up-and-coming and established acts; the lineup so far includes singer-songwriter Léon and Jake Wesley Rogers with more artists to be announced in the coming weeks. In past years, The Snow Lodge has featured performances from Sofi Tukker, Arizona, BLOND:ISH, Diplo, The Chainsmokers, Noah Cyrus, DJ Diesel, and more.

We’re so excited to be back in Aspen,” said Jayma Cardoso, Founder and Creative Director, The Surf Lodge. “After spending last winter locked down, we wanted to bring people back together in an intimate setting and create unforgettable experiences. We think The Snow Lodge will be the perfect place to do just that.”

Over Christmas and for the New Year, The Snow Lodge will host a string of events including hat maker Nick Fouquet’s holiday party (December 22nd), a dinner for the Aspen Art Museum celebrating their exclusive Warhol exhibit, an après series with sets featuring DJ Cassidy and Elderbrook and a New Year’s Eve party with a surprise musical performance. The Supper Club’s prefix New Year’s menu will include antipasti, an option of two pastas like the Ricotta Anolinni featuring butternut squash, chestnut and black truffle, main courses that include ribeye, scallops and pan seared branzino.
