Thomson: Winter Tenerife service launches from Humberside Airport

Local holidaymakers will benefit from the increased capacity from the airport with the holiday company ensuring customers can fly from their convenient local airport, guaranteeing year-round sun flights.

A new service to Tenerife from Humberside Airport has been launched by Thomson and First Choice. This service to the Canary Island sees a dedicated Thomson Airways aircraft operate a weekly flying programme each Monday during the winter season.

Local holidaymakers will benefit from the increased capacity from the airport with the holiday company ensuring customers can fly from their convenient local airport, guaranteeing year-round sun flights.

Humberside Airport greeted the first day’s passengers with a truly Spanish warm welcome with flamenco dancers and also sangria offered at check-in.

Sun-seekers jetting off to Tenerife have access to some of Thomson and First Choice’s most popular flagship hotels, including the 5T+ Sensatori Resort Tenerife, which is located on the west coast of the island, where guests can look forward to beachfront views with fabulous sunsets.

Tenerife also boasts many attractions, including the Siam Park waterpark and Teide National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site with spectacular scenery surrounding the volcanic Mount Teide, which is Spain’s highest point.

Deborah Zost, Humberside Airport’s Managing Director, said: “We’re thrilled to be able to offer local holidaymakers a winter weekly service to Tenerife from Humberside Airport.  By expanding its flying programme from Humberside, Thomson has clearly demonstrated its confidence in the airport, offering a greater choice of flights and holidays from our region.”

Karen Switzer, Director of Aviation Planning for Thomson and First Choice, said: “Adding more capacity from Humberside Airport with the introduction of new flights to Tenerife demonstrates our commitment to the airport and the surrounding area.

“Expanding access to our portfolio of destinations and hotels is a key part of our overall strategy and will enhance the holiday experience for our customers.”
