Tiqets announces Official Nominees for its 6th Annual Remarkable Venue Awards

20 attractions across the U.S. nominated among more than 200 global entries. For the first time in the history of Tiqets’ annual tourism awards series, venues in Germany, Portugal and the UAE will join the race to take home a Remarkable Venue Award.

NEW YORK CITY – Tiqets announced the official nominees for its Remarkable Venue Awards, which celebrates the best museums and attractions across the globe. The 20 U.S. nominees for the annual 2022 awards include The Museum of Modern Art in New York; Graceland in Memphis; Space Center Houston; and the Edge at Hudson Yards in New York; to name a few.

This year more than 200 global nominees are competing to become one of seven winners across nine countries represented in the Remarkable Venue Awards, including the U.S., U.K., U.A.E, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain. Today’s announcement reveals the final nominees for the first five award categories which are based on more than 1.1M customer reviews on Tiqets.com.

This year's categories and U.S. nominees in the Remarkable Venue Awards include:

Most Remarkable Venue
Recognizes the venues that draw the largest crowds and receive the highest rating

  • Titanic Museum Attraction Pigeon Forge, Tennessee
  • The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York City, New York
  • Aquarium of the Pacific, Long Beach, California
  • Space Center Houston, Texas

Best Museum
Highlights the top-rated museums and art galleries

  • The National WWII Museum, New Orleans, Louisiana
  • Musical Instrument Museum, Phoenix, Arizona
  • Museum of the American Revolution, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  • USS Midway Museum, San Diego, California

Best Attraction
Identifies the best-rated attraction (including theme parks, zoos and aquariums, and observation decks)

  • Filoli Historic House & Garden, San Francisco Bay Area, California
  • Gatorland Orlando, Florida
  • Graceland, Memphis, Tennessee
  • Flamingo Gardens, Davie, Florida

Best Landmark
Spotlights the best-reviewed cathedrals, churches, castles, palaces, historical or iconic landmarks

  • High Roller, Las Vegas, Nevada

Best Onsite Experience
Honors the venues that offer the best onsite experience, staff interaction and information on site

  • Battleship Iowa, Los Angeles, California
  • National Museum of African American Music, Nashville, Tennessee

For the first time in the history of Tiqets’ annual tourism awards series, venues in Germany, Portugal and the UAE will join the race to take home a Remarkable Venue Award.

Later this month, the second round of nominees for the two application-based awards, Best Hidden Gem, and Most Innovative Venue, will be announced. These two award categories will be assessed by a panel of industry judges including Arival CEO Douglas Quinby, Viajes National Geographic Web Director Javier Zori, MuseumNext Founder Jim Richardson, and Netherlands Board of Tourism & Conventions Destination Development Manager Anouk van Eekelen.

Applications for these awards will be open until September 8, 2022. Venues interested in applying for an award can download an application form via this link.

The winners in all seven categories for all nine participating countries will be announced at the end of September, just in time for World Tourism Day.

While the regional winners will be announced at the end of September, the global winners of the 2022 Remarkable Venue Awards will be announced at the annual awards ceremony hosted at the Tourism Innovation Summit (TIS). Those who can't make it to Seville can tune in to a free livestream of the event.
