In addition to possessing a degree in Tourism & Business Management from the University of Essex, Tom Dumbrell is a veteran travel sales professional with nearly 15 years of experience, the majority of which has been spent in high-end, experiential travel.

WILTON, CT - Tom Dumbrell has rejoined Tauck and will serve as the company’s National Account Manager for the UK and Ireland. Tauck is the 97-year-old, U.S.- based leader in upscale guided land tours, European river cruises, and small ship ocean cruises. Dumbrell returns to the role he was originally appointed to in 2020.

In addition to possessing a degree in Tourism & Business Management from the University of Essex, Dumbrell is a veteran travel sales professional with nearly 15 years of experience, the majority of which has been spent in high-end, experiential travel. His prior positions include serving as a Director of Sales with both Belmond (in the company’s Trains & Cruises portfolio) and Swan Hellenic, as well as roles with APT Cruises & Tours and Fred Olsen Cruise Lines.

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Tom back to Tauck,” said Steve Spivak, Tauck’s Vice President, Global Sales and Reservations. “Tom will leverage his deep relationships with key accounts and trade organizations throughout the UK and Ireland to advance Tauck’s presence in the market. His wealth of first-hand experience coupled with his extensive industry knowledge will make Tom an incredible asset to our travel partners and advisors in the UK and Ireland as they grow their Tauck business.”

Spivak also hinted at a number of possible Tauck events for the coming months in the UK and Ireland, noting that he’d recently traveled to Australia and New Zealand to host meetings with the company’s top travel advisors and members of the travel media.

“We continue to see enormous potential in the UK and Ireland, and as we were just reminded during a series of successful meetings in Australia and New Zealand, there’s simply no substitute for having ‘boots-on-the-ground’ in markets where we’re looking to increase our presence,” said Spivak. “It’s critical that we’re not only delivering the kind of day-to-day support that we know
Tom will be providing, but that Tauck’s senior leadership is in tune with the long-term needs of local travel advisors.”

Tauck has demonstrated its commitment to the UK market in other ways. In the years prior to the pandemic, and in addition to hiring Dumbrell, the company established a London call center, began printing brochures for the UK market with GBP pricing, and created a dedicated website for its UK consumers.

Dumbrell is based in Essex where he lives with his wife and three dogs. He is also a published novelist, having recently authored a trilogy of books in the fantasy fiction genre
