Top five best things to do in Adelaide

Every city likes to boast about their food, but Adelaide really does have some good food. Whether it’s a fancy high tea (at a manor house, at a vineyard, or somewhere else) or a sumptuous dinner, make the food you enjoy in Adelaide an event to be remembered.

There are plenty of things to do in Adelaide to entertain and excite. Read on for our top five things to do before you head out into the city to discover your favourite sights in Adelaide!

Monarto safari park
The Monarto Safari Park is the largest open-range zoo in the world with over 1,500 hectares of land and over 500 animals from over 50 species that call it home.

Every day there are several shows available. These shows are great to learn a little more about the animals. And we do mean ‘every day’ because the park is open every day of the year, even public holidays!

Book add-on experiences if you like those kinds of hands-on experiences. Experiences like meeting the chimps face-to-face or join the keepers and get up close and personal with the cheetahs. Or just wander through the park at your own pace and make the most of your day that way.

Barossa Valley wines
When people think of holidays to Adelaide and the wide South Australia area, they often think of the Barossa Valley and the outstanding wines that come out of the region.

You can book a guided wine tour where someone can drive you to the top wineries in the region, or go it on your own to try the wineries that appeal to your more personal tastes. Head into their cellar doors to try their wines and maybe purchase any that take your fancy to take back home. Shiraz is the most popular varietal for the Barossa, but the valley has plenty more to offer.

Blend your own wine
Sure you can go to a winery and taste some wines, but blending your own wine is a whole new experience. Not every winery will offer this kind of experience, a few do and you can book the experience ahead of time. The wine you take home will be truly unique and to your taste preferences. It doesn’t get better than that.

A tour of the city
Go on a walking tour, a tour on a tricycle where the rider introduces you to some hot spots, or a guided tour to spot the important elements of the city. Adelaide is full of history and historic buildings and a great way to see it all is on foot. Wander through the city to get your bearings and to take note of any activities you want to do later. You might find the perfect restaurant for dinner that night while you’re out walking in the morning.

Enjoy the food
Every city likes to boast about their food, but Adelaide really does have some good food. Whether it’s a fancy high tea (at a manor house, at a vineyard, or somewhere else) or a sumptuous dinner, make the food you enjoy in Adelaide an event to be remembered. Food is more than just sustenance, and an impressive meal at one of the local restaurants in Adelaide proves it.
