Travel fraud on the rise

The value of e-commerce has exploded in recent years, but this rise is matched by the evolution of fraud techniques targeted at e-commerce platforms, threatening profits and undermining the customer experience.

According to the Fraud Attack Index released by Forter, land travel and accommodation has seen a 19% increase in the level of fraud, showing a lack of preparedness among merchants for this emerging threat.

In addition to this, the bi-annual Fraud Attack Index highlights the different methods fraudsters are relying on such as: Policy Abuse (up 170%), Account Takeover (up 45%), and Returns Abuse (down 90%), providing valuable intelligence for merchants looking to protect their businesses and their customers in a rapidly changing environment.
