44% want their smartphones with them on vacation to organize their trip more efficiently, while 72% us their smartphones to look for restaurants while on vacation.

An infographic created by AppLift, a mobile adtech company, reveals global mobile travel trends including: travel behaviors, how consumers use their mobile devices for travel planning, and more. 

Below are a few of the stats that AppLift’s infographic reveals:

  • Travel Behavior of Connected Travelers (those who have used a smartphone to plan or book a trip):
    – 44% want their smartphones with them on vacation to organize their trip more efficiently
    – 37% use it for booking accommodation on the go
    – 72% us their smartphones to look for restaurants while on vacation
    – 52% of travel related browsing is on mobile 
  • US Mobile Travel Bookers (% of travelers who book trips via digital means will do so using a mobile device):
    – 2015 – 43.8%
    – 2017 – 59.2% projected
  • Top 5 Travel App Publisher (per country per platform)
