Travel tips: How to protect yourself and others from COVID-19

With some safety measures, you can rest assured that you and your loved ones will stay protected. Interested in knowing how you can achieve this? Just check out the next few tips.

The threat of COVID-19 is still very real even though some people like to pretend that we have succeeded in curbing the spread of the virus. If you are traveling soon, you might be concerned about the health implications of your trip. While traveling in the COVID-19 era can be a bit tricky, it is not impossible. With some safety measures, you can rest assured that you and your loved ones will stay protected. Interested in knowing how you can achieve this? Just check out the next few tips.

Rethink your destination
When it comes to COVID-19, the situation in each country is different. Even though some countries have it under control, others are still struggling with reducing the huge number of cases that emerge every day. This is why you need to check the general situation in the place you want to visit. As of October, there has been a resurgence in the number of COVID-19 cases in Europe, especially in France and Italy. So, if you are heading there, you might want to postpone your trip. Similarly, if you are visiting the States, it is better to steer away from California, Florida, and Texas since they are the most affected areas in the country.

Wear a mask and gloves
This one probably goes without saying, but some people still doubt the validity of wearing masks. As of now, wearing a mask, even a makeshift cloth one, limits your chances of contracting the virus by more than 70%, and that is assuming that the people you are in close contact with are not covering their faces. Considering that all airports now do not admit passengers who are not covering their faces, masks are a must. If you want to take it up a notch, you can also wear gloves. It is recommended that you look for biodegradable gloves collection, as not all types of latex are eco-friendly. Furthermore, make sure to change the pair you are wearing every few hours to guarantee that you are not going to infect yourself by accident. Visit Primo Dental Products for their nitrile examination gloves for sale to help keep you safe during the pandemic.

Keep a safe distance and wash your hands
If you are traveling by air, then following this tip will be easy. Most airports have stringent guidelines about close contact. If you end up traveling by bus, though, try to keep the seat next to you empty. Based on the CDC’s instructions, social distancing involves staying 6 feet away from other people. However, if this is not feasible, try to keep as much distance as the situation allows between you and other people. In case you are traveling by car, make sure not to stop at busy diners or gas stations unless it is an emergency. When it comes to hygiene, washing your hands frequently with good old soap and water should do the trick. If you cannot find soap, you can use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

Most importantly, you need to evaluate the purpose of your trip. If it can be postponed, then you should do that; better safe than sorry!
