Travelpayouts supports its community during COVID-19

Travelpayouts reimburses affiliate travel marketers for lost commission due to the coronavirus.

NEW YORK – Travelpayouts, the affiliate travel marketing network, is compensating its travel partners for cancelled travel deals in the wake of the coronavirus. The company refunded cancelled flights and bookings in April and will refund affiliates again in May, bringing the total compensation to over $100,000 from cash reserves.

Travelpayouts affiliate marketers usually receive up to 80% in commission from each deal they sell on their websites. However, with the coronavirus spreading, the travel industry is struggling. Travel and hotel providers as well as airlines have had to cancel their deals, and Travelpayouts affiliates have found their accounts with negative balances.

“We believe it is crucial to support webmasters and the community now. They should not lose commissions which they earned in April and May,” says Travelpayouts CEO, Ivan Baidin. “The crisis will end, and we will have to recover from it together with webmasters and publishers, who have always trusted Travelpayouts. We want you to count on us now more than ever.”

Every time an affiliate’s booking is cancelled, that affiliate loses their compensation fees. Travelpayouts has tracked all cancelled bookings and refunded the compensation fees. The company is motivated to see the positive impact this is having in the community.

While travel is on hold, Travelpayouts is doing more to connect with their community. Recently, they published a COVID-19 Survival Kit for Travel Bloggers. They are also hosting a webinar on how to handle the pandemic in various countries, with bloggers from the US, Canada, India, UK and other countries.

In times of crisis, companies need to restructure their management and leadership, and reach out to help the community.1 Travelpayouts aims to support its community and keep community members afloat during this difficult time.
