TripGrid expands executive team with hiring of Tim Tishcler as Chief Technology Officer

Former Director of Engineering for HomeAway joins Portland-based travel tech startup ahead of Phocuswright battleground.

PORTLAND, OR – TripGrid, a travel technology startup offering a collaborative travel organization platform, announced the hiring of Tim Tishcler as Chief Technology Officer. Tishcler joins the executive team as the company heads to the Phocuswright Battleground stage November 14-17 to compete among the travel industry’s most innovative startups.

In joining Tripgrid, Tischler hopes to help solve the problem of creating a better experience for corporate travel planners and their teams as well as consumers who collaborate and organize even the most complex travel experiences.

“Adding Tim to our team is the next logical step in our evolution,” said TripGrid CEO Jake Hoskins. “TripGrid was originally born from the founders’ shared passion for organizing the often chaotic process of planning travel. We recently recognized a huge gap in the corporate market for a universal, collaborative travel organization platform, since most companies are currently leveraging a variety of tools that only solve one piece of the puzzle. Adding Tim as our CTO will allow us to continue to pursue our goal of developing a better way for businesses and consumers to organize and manage the entire travel experience.”

During his seven years with HomeAway, Tischler cultivated a passion for leading engineering teams with lean techniques and experimentation to build products for the enterprise and consumer space. In addition to focusing on the traveler experience at HomeAway, Tischler previously served as an operations leader for Nike helping to lead the company’s digital transformation effort.

TripGrid also recently brought on advisor Brent Hieggelke, founder of Second Porch and former CMO of Urban Airship. Hieggelke brings a long history of entrepreneurial executive leadership experience with a focus on fast-growing startups, and will help boost TripGrid’s marketing efforts.
