Trondent launches new pre-booking trip authorization solution, driven by an Artificial Intelligence rules engine

Authorizer Travel Request is a smart standalone online solution which does not require integration with the GDS and can be used by corporations of all sizes regardless of geography and travel providers used to manage their travel program.

BARRINGTON, IL – Trondent Development Corp., a leading provider of software, webbased applications and data management services to the global travel industry, announce the new addition to its pre-trip approval suite of products – Authorizer Travel Request. The new platform facilitates the approval of trip requests for travelers who must obtain authorization prior to booking a trip with the TMC or OBT. Authorizer Travel Request offers a structured, documented, and highly efficient process which improves the traveler experience, increases compliance, minimizes traveler and corporate risk, and prevents unnecessary spend. The solution is also well-suited to manage the approval of trips booked on low-cost carriers, hotel, rail, ground transportation, and any other non-GDS, instant-purchase, or NDC bookings.

Authorizer Travel Request is a smart standalone online solution which does not require integration with the GDS and can be used by corporations of all sizes regardless of geography and travel providers used to manage their travel program. Utilizing the same Artificial Intelligence rules engine which drives Authorizer AI, Authorizer Travel Request can easily facilitate a custom approval process which best suits the corporation’s goals and culture. When used in conjunction with Trondent’s Authorizer AI pre-trip approval solution, Authorizer Travel Request provides a single, comprehensive approach to managing all aspects of the pre-trip approval process – from the moment the trip is conceived to the moment the trip is ticketed.

The implementation of an automated pre-booking approval process solves for a multitude of current challenges for both the TMC and the corporate client. TMCs appreciate that only fully-vetted travel requests are sent to the agent and thus valuable time and resources are conserved, especially at a time of lean staffing and increased client expectations. Corporate clients find value in using a streamlined and well-documented trip approval solution which provides increased efficiency in submitting, reviewing, and managing approvals while addressing budgetary and duty of care requirements prior to the traveler engaging with the travel agent or OBT. Obtaining approvals prior to booking on low-cost carriers or on other NDC providers allows them to simplify the process for all involved and avoid unnecessary spend.

"As it is clear that we will be living with the effects of the pandemic for quite some time, pre-booking approval tools are increasingly important for corporations and TMCs alike. Handling more complex approval evaluations which now must consider rapidly evolving duty of care requirements is a daunting task for corporations and for their travel providers, who are now operating with much leaner staffing" says Trondent Founder and CEO David Wood. "Authorizer Travel Request continues our mission to provide relevant solutions with unmatched functionality and customization capabilities, closing gaps in the approval process from conception to ticketing. This is a win-win for both corporations and TMCs."
