Ural Airlines strengthens positions at Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport

Ural Airlines is one of the top five leading carriers at Pulkovo in terms of passenger traffic. For the six months of 2018, the airline provided services to 423,000 passengers at Pulkovo Airport, showing an 11.9% increase year on year.

In the summer season of 2018, Ural Airlines has launched six new scheduled flights from St. Petersburg. The carrier now provides direct services from Pulkovo Airport to Bukhara, Urgench and Fergana (Uzbekistan), to one of the largest air hubs in Europe Frankfurt am Main (Germany), and offers charter flights to Palma de Mallorca (Spain) and Rhodes (Greece).

These routes are new additions to the schedule of Ural Airlines from the Northern Capital of Russia. With the new flights, the airline’s route network from Pulkovo airport now includes a total of 25 scheduled and charter destinations: Antalya, Bodrum (Turkey), Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca (Spain), Batumi, Tbilisi (Georgia), Bukhara, Namangan, Urgench, Fergana (Uzbekistan), Dushanbe, Khujand (Tajikistan), Yerevan (Armenia), Larnaca (Cyprus), Osh (Kyrgyzstan), Ovda, Tel-Aviv (Israel), Beijing (China), Rhodes (Greece), Frankfurt am Main (Germany), as well as the Russian cities of Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Moscow, Simferopol and Sochi.

To enhance passenger comfort and increase the service speed, in addition to the main check-in counters Ural Airlines has recently opened a 24-hour luggage drop-off desk at Pulkovo Airport for checked-in passengers.

In 2015 and 2016, Ural Airlines won the LED Together Prize of St. Petersburg Airport for the most dynamic development of the route network.

Pulkovo Airport ranks fourth in Russia in terms of passenger traffic. For the five months of 2018, St. Petersburg airport served 6 million passengers, which is 11% more than the same period of 2017. The Northern Capital Gateway International Consortium has been the main operator of Pulkovo Airport since 2010. The company manages the airport under a public-private partnership agreement, and implements its reconstruction and development project.
