Volara announced new partnerships with SONIFI and HAPI

SONIFI/Volara integrated experience allows users to make requests, control room environments, and get information using proven technologies such as Amazon Alexa.

HOUSTON – SONIFI Solutions announced a major step in extending its solutions for a smarter enterprise by delivering voice-activated room controls powered by Volara. The integrated experience allows users to make requests, control the room environments, and access information using proven technologies such as Alexa for Hospitality, announced by Amazon. SONIFI will make this solution available as part of its core lineup of hospitality solutions for customers.

The partnership also includes technology integrations that combine SONIFI's guestroom technology and Volara's voice activation capabilities to drive a more seamless and enhanced guest experience, as was recently launched at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, a AAA Five Diamond resort spread across 65 acres in the Sonoran Desert of Scottsdale, AZ. The property is among the first to offer guests a hands-free, voice-activated calling feature via Alexa for Hospitality. This voice-enabled amenity is customized to the Princess hotel and located only in premium rooms. Guests may ask the Alexa any myriad of questions or requests, from scheduling turn-down service, to playing music, dialing the Concierge Desk or asking the best place for a great steak.

"The possibilities of combining video and voice to deliver guest experiences are quite powerful," said Roy Kosuge, Chief Commercial Officer for SONIFI. "We're excited to be working with Volara's innovative team to exceed guest and hotelier expectations."

"We're thrilled to be working with SONIFI, given the robust array of solutions they already offer in hospitality," added David Berger, CEO of Volara. "It's a natural alignment for our respective customers."

HAPI Teams Up with Volara to Personalize Voice-Based Guest Engagement with Hotel PMS Data
Also, HAPI, a transformative new data streaming, integration and enrichment platform designed to solve the hotel industry's rapidly expanding data management challenges, has completed a successful integration with Volara, the provider of voice-based guest engagement software for the Amazon Echo.

The platform enhancements to Volara that are a result of the technology integration with HAPI provide a host of benefits. Hoteliers gain the ability to personalize responses to guests on Amazon Alexa, based on data that resides in the PMS, including name, group code, loyalty status and much more. The combined solution also has the capability to enrich guest profiles with additional data that can enhance their stay experience, such as which information and services that guests are requesting and when they prefer to engage with the property.

"Our mission is to extend the functionality of other guest-facing hotel systems and augment them through the power of voice-based communication," said David Berger, CEO of Volara. "That means integrations like the one we just completed with HAPI are key drivers to our success and that of our hotel customers. Gaining access to the plethora of data that is contained in the PMS and other integrated systems, then leveraging that data is smart ways, enables Volara's clients to create remarkable experiences through context for truly personalized voice-based interactions with guests."

Through the new integration, HAPI accessed guest data in the hotel PMS and converts it into a simple common message type that can be enriched and then consumed by Volara for use in its guest engagement platform.

"In developing HAPI, our goal was not to introduce yet another technology solution to simply mine more data, because the data already exists," said Luis Segredo, president and CEO of Data Travel, LLC, the developer of HAPI. "Instead, our platform is designed to securely collect, merge and enrich those existing data streams from legacy systems like the PMS, customer intelligence platforms, and IoT and expose them in ways that offer a richer version of reality with less of the redundant integration efforts. This allows hoteliers to focus on other key areas that truly drive value for the guest."
