WeVenture expands into Seattle market with variety of day tours starting May

NEW YORK CITY, NY – This winter, owners David Naczycz, Andy Maunder, Jason Fried, Bill Gehrman, and Michiel Stavast brought their combined 75 years of tourism experience to create WeVenture. This month, the national tour operating company expands into the Seattle market with the creation of four unique day-tours, immersing visitors into the city’s vibrant culture. Additional Seattle- based itineraries will roll out this summer. Currently, WeVenture offers tours in over 10 other major U.S. cities, including New York City, Miami, and Los Angeles, and employs over 100 local guides and staff. The company is excited to activate in the Pacific Northwest and connect guests to Seattle's fantastic food, art, history, and culture. With its proximity to so many destinations, the city is an ideal launching point for multi-day experiences, which will begin later this year. The newly-announced tours include the Coffee Culture Tour, Seattle Cocktail Tour, Pike Place Market Food Tour, and Preserving Pike Place Community Tour. Guests will explore the evolution of the area's coffee culture, learn about the city's famed cocktail scene, or visit the iconic century-old Seattle farmers market and taste local and international delights. Tours are curated to ensure guests have an immersive, memorable, and stimulating experience led by local guides.

The daily tours highlight Seattle's Capitol Hill, downtown neighborhoods, and the Pike Place Market. Tours are limited to 12 guests, ensuring an intimate and personal experience. The one-mile walking tours can last two and a half hours and provide guests with a genuinely engaging experience. Tours are recommended for all ages, with the exception of the Seattle Cocktail tour, intended for patrons 21 and over. Tickets can be purchased on WeVenture's website. Local guides are storytellers, sharing their cities' unique and often overlooked history. Tours are not scripted, which gives each guide flexibility to talk about their own passions and fit the itinerary to the travelers' interests. No two WeVenture tours are alike, making them entertaining for both locals and visitors from around the world. In Seattle, guides share fascinating tales spotlighting the city's salacious past, indigenous people, and strong counterculture and progressive history.

WeVenture strives to be as creative as possible when designing itineraries. "There's a lot of experimenting behind the building of these excursions,” said Lee Dunlap, WeVenture Seattle Destination Manager. “We try to pair unlikely combinations of activities and talk with local vendors to see how they can fit into our itineraries. Of course, we include the mainstream attractions but also include neighborhoods that have businesses we love in need of customers."

At WeVenture, executives believe tours and excursions should contribute to the growth and betterment of everyone involved; guests, team members, partners, and communities. Sustainability is core to the company’s mission, and with Seattle's reputation as one of the country's greenest cities, WeVenture is proud to expand into this environmentally-friendly market. The Coffee Culture Tour dives into the background of organic and responsible sourcing movements. Businesses highlighted on the tour donate a portion of the proceeds from coffee sold to organizations such as homeless youth barista training programs. The Pike Place Tour highlights Washington-made cheeses from local businesses and flowers grown by Hmong workers at farms in the area. The Pike Place tours are special because they connect directly to WeVenture’s purpose and values. The company partnered with the Pike Place Market Foundation (PPMF) and Global Family Travels to support the ongoing community-focused work of PPMF.

The foundation provides financial support for housing, healthcare, food, and childcare for the downtown and Market community. Both tours include a donation to the PPMF in the ticket price.
