Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay to undergo a third transformative refurbishment just in time for Spring 2023

The final stage of an extensive renewal plan will include an infinity overflow swimming pool, and the complete redesign of 108 rooms with private pools overlooking the Mirabello bay.

CRETE – Five-star resort Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay announces the third and final stage of its extensive renovation, which will take place this fall ahead of a spring 2023 relaunch. Part of the well-known Wyndham Hotels portfolio, Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay is set on a pristine bay on the north-east coast of the Greek island of Crete, easily reachable from popular destinations Elounda and Agios Nikolaos. Owned and managed by Zeus International, Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay underwent an initial redesign in 2019, and a phase two renovation in 2022 to modernise the rooms and elevate the guest experience. For phase three of the renovation, Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay will unveil the final remodelling of 108 rooms, six new room categories all with private pools, and an all-new main swimming pool with an infinity overflow.

New for 2023, the five-star resort will reveal the redesign of the final 108 rooms, which are set to feature an earthy colour palette and natural materials, including oak wood flooring and sophisticated black metal finishes. The new rooms will offer bungalow suites and rooms with far reaching sea views and private pools and indoor jacuzzis, providing guests with the utmost comfort and privacy. The hotel’s main swimming pool will also be extended and finished with an impressive infinity overflow feature, and a floating platform will be constructed in the sea to better serve the water activity centre. The resort olive grove surrounding the yoga platforms will be landscaped, and a new garden will be created growing aromatic native plants and herbs.

Elevating Crete’s hospitality scene, Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay serves the discerning traveller that seeks to experience Greece through a cultivated and comfortable full-service property. With 318 spacious rooms that span across the main building and “The Village”, comprising one-and two-storey suites with terraces and private pools, Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay presents guests with authentic Cretan hospitality, contemporary design, first-rate amenities and unrivalled experiences, set on the idyllic Mirabello coastline and framed by the lush Cretean countryside.

Haris Siganos, CEO and Group President of Zeus International Hotels & Resorts said, “As a well-established and forward-thinking hotel management firm, we understand the importance of adaptation to suit the shifting needs and growing demands of the international, modern-day traveller. It’s not only a case of remaining relevant in an increasingly competitive market but advancing ahead of the curve to elevate the experience beyond that of our competitors. The intensive redesign and renovation of Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay will determine the resort as a cut above the island's existing properties, establishing it as one of the most deluxe hotel offerings in Crete”.

After an initial refurbishment in 2019 which saw the revamp of the first cluster of rooms and main reception area, Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay underwent a considerable redesign earlier in 2022, inspired by Cretan traditions and cleverly integrated with high-end facilities. The result culminated in a modern design concept tastefully honouring local Cretan culture. 100 rooms were renovated, with the addition of 55 private pools and 10 outdoor jacuzzis, and a new leisure and entertainment complex was developed with an open-air cinema, two bars and a beachside tavern serving locally sourced fresh fish and barbecued meats. The hotel’s wellness facilities were enhanced, with added gym and spa features, and the construction of three outdoor wooden yoga pavilions nestled in the olive grove that overlooks Mirabello Bay.
